oh my gody e s
So later this week I'm gonna be getting a patternless rusty orange (brick red/orange when fired up) female crested gecko! :D The women from the reptile rescue stopped by the store I work at, and I got to talk to her for a bit and she said she's gonna hold the little girl for me until I can pick her up either Friday or next Tuesday ^u^ I'm so excited! (Might be naming her Scully because of the reddish-orange color, but I'm open to suggestion!)
Congrats! Omg Scully sounds like a great name, ahaha!
I love my cats, but like a reptile isn't gonna get dander everywhere and vomit on the carpet, which is what has made them so appealing to me over the past couple years xD now that I know I want one it's like ???? What do I choose???? There's too many options, and it's driving me up the wall since I can only afford 1
I haven’t looked too much into cresties, but they make great pets. Honestly, after getting my girls, I wish I had tried snakes sooner! (My first herp was a green iguana, not a good beginner reptile, but thankfully I’m a fast learner and addicted to researching EVERYTHING on the internet). I too love my cats and dog, but the snakes are such... stress free animals? If I’m too busy with other stuff, or tired, or overloading, I don’t have to interact with them, but when I want to, they’re great. They’re quiet, they don’t take up huge amounts of space, they only eat once a week and one order of rats (currently ahaha) lasts me months. Their husbandry needs are juuuust fiddly enough that I’m kept engaged, but not so much that I get overwhelmed if I’m dealing with other stuff. And interacting with them is a huge destressor for me. It scratches an itchy spot in my brain the same way some of my other stims do. If I need to take a break from the rest of the world for a bit, closing the door to the snake room and spending some time with the girls is the best thing.
There's just so many morphs to choose from when it comes to reptiles and they're so pretty ;n; I want ALL OF THEM
The pain is real T_T
So the cream colored crested gecko I was looking at is not for sale, BUT they have a juvenile that looks just like her, at the same time there's also a patternless red juvenile that's absolutely beautiful. It's such a struggle trying to choose just one ;n; I've never had this problem with selecting a pet before, oh the struggle
WELCOME TO REPTILES IN GENERAL
No, seriously though, reptiles are the only creatures I’ve kept where I have a literal list of animals I want in the future, and the list grows longer every few days.
