would you recommend caps 390 or caps 391? (if you had to choose one) and also in relation with caps 301
I haven’t taken 391, but the consensus I’ve gotten from many is in terms of easiness, CAPS 390 > 391 > 301. I’d choose 390 for both easiness and applicability - histology helps if you’re looking to get into life sciences research. CAPS 391 is macroscopic so it can be very helpful for med, and I hear the info is pretty interesting.

I personally enjoyed 390 more than 391. I found 390 to be less redundant and more interesting to learn and study even though it taught anatomy at the cellular level.
When I was studying for 391, I would just sit there for hours with this expression on my face —> -_-, there was just so much stuff to know; all the little bones, joints, veins, muscles of every part of the body.
That being said, depending on your professional program and your own personal interests, 391 might be more beneficial for you. I can definitely see it being helpful for anyone who is interested in healthcare (medicine, nursing, dentistry etc). I wasn’t very interested in those areas so I guess that’s why I had the “kill me” expression every time I was studying haha.
You can look up CAPS 391 and CAPS 390 to see my reviews on them when they were still fresh in my mind. CAPS 390 might still be tagged as ANAT 390 for some of my posts, so you might want to look that up as well (yes, I’m old).
Hey, I'm taking CAPS 391 now during the summer semester and I've realized that it has A LOT of info to memorize. Do you have any tips on how to tackle this course? I know we should study early, but it just goes by so fast in the summer.

As someone who is interested in taking CAPS 390/391 during the summer, how doable is taking both of them during the same summer term? Was it too overwhelming? Should I do only one of them or both of them?
I would not recommend doing both at the same time, the amount of detail you are expected to know for 391 is astounding. These two courses, unlike other ones where you have to apply your knowledge, requires that you memorize hundreds of terms and this can get overwhelming! I liked 390 more than 391, but only because 390 seemed to have less to memorize haha.
So maybe a little too much on my plate?...
Right now I'm taking two summer courses (ENGL 301 online and BIOL 343), and I'm going a little nuts LOL. I've never taken 2 summer courses at once, I also usually only do one course in term 1 of summer and have 2 months off, and I think I've bit off more than I can chew. It's okay, but there are so many assignments for Biol 343 and labs every single day after class. I've also agreed to keep volunteering in the lab because I really enjoy going and my supervisor is almost done with her project.
One of the biggest reasons I decided to do 3 summer courses (I recently just finish CAPS 391, and that's another story on it's own) was because I couldn't get a job. I'm also volunteering as the new web master for Changing the Lens, a forum theatre project at UBC, and they're in the midst of working on a plan for next year, they don't have a lot of project members yet, so I'm doing the best I can to help in any way possible.
I like being kept busy, but am I going to crack?
We'll just have to wait and see (and yes, I will do a review on CAPS 391, ENGL 301 AND BIOL 343 at the end of August when they're all over).
