Do you know of any courses without finals other than creative writing?
I took FRST 302 last term and there wasn’t a final. I hear ENGL 301 doesn’t have a final anymore either.

Did you ever take any courses on Credit/D? I'm considering taking a super hard but interesting arts elective on Credit/D to meet my arts requirement (going into 4th year in faculty of science). If not, what arts electives would you recommend (your previous arts courses or courses you've heard by word of mouth). Keep up the awesome posts!
I haven’t, but if you’re interested in this course but don’t want to jeopardize your marks, you should do it! However, if you’re doing it as part of your 18 Arts credits or 9 breadth credits, you might want to double check with the advisors at the Science Advising Centre. You can’t do a course for C/D/F if it’s a requirement and I’m not entirely sure if taking a course to fulfill a certain requirement counts.
I really liked ENGL 301, Technical Writing. It’s super useful for professional writing, especially for a work environment. It’s not too hard either, and that’s what I really like: courses that are useful and not super hard =P.
HI! I am currently a first year science student and my summer school registration time just got moved from 7 am to 12:15 at noon. Do you think I would still have a chance to register for chem 233? (i know its a pretty popular course)... Also, got any suggestions for an easier arts elective course to take on line? thanks!
It might be a little tough, but definitely register for the waitlist if you can and keep checking over the next few months!
I’ve only ever taken ENGL 301 and GRSJ 300 online, and they were definitely not easy, ENGL 301 is a really helpful course though.
Just wrote this poem for Brit Lit:
If you were a vacuum cleaner, you would not be any greater!
All of the bad you suck into yourself as a cyclone.
I knew this dust would be sucked up sooner or later,
Since I’ve found you, my life has been cleaner than a river stone.
With you in my life, the dirt is never just blown
From carpet to tile, it is taken into your dust bag.
At long last, my home is clean and I can brag.
Remember when...
4 months ago I asked you guys to fill out a survey I was doing for a report on volunteering for my Technical Writing course (Engl 301)? No? That's okay =P.
Well.... I just got my mark back for that final assignment and the prof says she's impressed by the amount of people I got to take the survey! 76 of you guys took it, so I'd like to say THANK YOU!!! =D
So maybe a little too much on my plate?...
Right now I'm taking two summer courses (ENGL 301 online and BIOL 343), and I'm going a little nuts LOL. I've never taken 2 summer courses at once, I also usually only do one course in term 1 of summer and have 2 months off, and I think I've bit off more than I can chew. It's okay, but there are so many assignments for Biol 343 and labs every single day after class. I've also agreed to keep volunteering in the lab because I really enjoy going and my supervisor is almost done with her project.
One of the biggest reasons I decided to do 3 summer courses (I recently just finish CAPS 391, and that's another story on it's own) was because I couldn't get a job. I'm also volunteering as the new web master for Changing the Lens, a forum theatre project at UBC, and they're in the midst of working on a plan for next year, they don't have a lot of project members yet, so I'm doing the best I can to help in any way possible.
I like being kept busy, but am I going to crack?
We'll just have to wait and see (and yes, I will do a review on CAPS 391, ENGL 301 AND BIOL 343 at the end of August when they're all over).
