Capsela Robots - 1986
1983, 'Capsenauts' from the Capsela branch of toys called SpaceLink (36mm tall)
This was a really cool toy - a motorized building set. The clear capsules all had various gears and axels to pass along power from a motor capsule to various wheels, propellers, or treads.
It even had floater capsules so you could make watercraft... which now that I think about it is kind of amazing, that they had kids take battery packs and motors in the bath. I guess the electric parts were pretty thoroughly waterproofed.
