Ahh feels good to be back on my angsty bullshit

From what I seen from translated clips from the Crisis of the Tsunami movie, Barnacles states something along the lines of how getting hit in the head with Pesos bag helped him get his memories back. I’m taking that as confirmation that Barnacles does remember everything that happened when he lost his memory, including how he almost killed Kwazii

What makes this worse is that I headcanon physical touch as one of Barnacles’ love languages, giving high fives, fist bumps, even patting his crews heads on occasions, but after all that, he couldn’t get to close to anyone without remembering how badly he could’ve hurt Kwazii for weeks

Octonauts week day 2: Angst

Captain Barnacles angst HC

He’s usually the last one to fall asleep because he does constant check-up’s on the main crew due to paranoia

He sometimes skips meals so the main crew will have more to eat

Claustrophobic due to a traumatic childhood event (canon)

Talks with Inkling a lot to figure out how to cope with his paranoia

Tries to help everyone and everything, leading to him becoming overworked and burnt out.

Refuses to have some sort of vacation. He’ll say “you all can go, but someone needs to help sea creatures in need.”

Forgot to do a nightly checkup ONCE. When he woke up, he almost cried thinking something bad happened to the crew (spoiler: nothing happened)

When he damages a GUP, he always tried to help Tweak repair it because he feels guilty about it. Resulted in Tweak banning him from the Launch Bay when she’s relating a GUP since he asked so many times.

Has nightmares about his sister, niece, and nephew.

Always there to everyone’s rescue, but feels like he’ll be forgotten about and no one will come to his rescue.

Works out so much to the point where it’s unhealthy just so he can get “strong” enough to protect the main crew

Polar bear dens are made of ice and snow, Barnacles felling into an ice hole and now deals with with claustrophobia now as a result

So how many times do yall think Barnacles had a panic attack because his own childhood den reminded him of when he fell? How many times do yall think Barnacles struggled to even go in the den at all?
