Made this for the Ithaca Saga anniversary yesterday, but I don’t really post here all that much anymore my bad.
[Image ID: Shanks and Cocoa drawn in the One Piece Fan Letter art style standing on a beach, the sky is an orange ombré color, indicating it is the late afternoon. They are facing each other, Shanks expressing tired elation, while Cocoa is more tame in her expression almost in shock. Both have light shadows under their eyes. The wind blows both their hair and clothing to the left direction. There is a blurred outline of plants on the outer rim of the artwork surrounding the couple. END ID]
Cherry does not approve.
(Posting each one of the finished artworks here first since I’ve neglected y’all.)
[Image ID: Shanks holding Cocoa close in an almost kiss. Both with speech bubbles saying "I consent." Cherry in the background glaring towards the two with her arms crossed, a speech bubble above her head saying "I DON'T!" The image caption says: The Myth of "Consensual" Allyship. Isn't there somebody you forgot to ask? END ID]

This post is really as much about Firestation Records as it is about Friends Again (Glasgow, Scotland). While I've really enjoyed Friends Again's sophisti-pop over the last couple of years, I'm just blown away by Firestation Records who have a long record of reissuing/releasing fine sounds from the British 1980s music scene. Along with Friends Again, we've posted about Captain Cocoa, Endless Bob Brown and The Last Peach.
Another Firestation release is The Sullivans, "Somewhere Songs". The few songs I've heard belong with all the bands mentioned above. Throw in a little Orange Juice for good measure. "This is Where We Part", "I've Had My Moments", and "Here It Is" are all wonderful introductions to the band. You can actually get "Somewhere Songs" on Bandcamp - just with no music. The album is sold out at Firestation Records, but Sullivans member Jo Clack has a Bandcamp page where he's selling a few copies.
Finally, Jigsaw Records has a large catalogue of Firestation releases ready for your perusal.
I was gonna post it on BlueSky, but I might finish it some day…not anytime soon I don’t think…but it still came out cute…
Still not gonna tag as Shanks or OP because I refuse to be perceived.

Captain Cocoa were an Australian band (Melbourne) active in the late 1980s. I think they sound like a British band active in the early 1980s - specifically I can't help but think of Orange Juice and The June Brides.
Firestation Records (Germany) has been releasing amazing LPs from the golden era of British (and now Australian) C86 bands. Jigsaw Records (Portland) carries a good amount of the Firestation catalogue - including a great LP compilation. While you're at Jigsaw, look at all the Firestation releases. In particular, check out This Poison! (Scotland....Precious Recordings has released a Peel session).
