Prompt 31 - First Misunderstanding

“Why is it always fucking Sirius?!” Remus growled loudly at Lily. “I swear all of my problems are because of Sirius,” 

“Calm down, Remus, it can’t be all that bad,” Lily tried to soothe him, but to no avail. 

“If it wasn’t because of stupid Sirius, my life would be so much happier right now,” Lily gasped, staring just over Remus’s shoulder. Remus turned to see Sirius standing behind him. His lip was quivering, and he looked absolutely devastated. “Sirius,” Remus started, but Sirius turned and ran out of the library. “Damn it! Lily, I’ll see you later.” Remus grabbed his things and rushed after Sirius. 

It didn’t take long to track him down. Sirius was not very fast. “Sirius, wait!” Remus called as he jogged the remaining distance. 

“Just leave me alone, Remus, you clearly don’t want me around,” Sirius said sulkily. 

“No, Sirius, you don’t understand—”

“You could have just told me, you know. I would have left you alone,” Sirius sniffled, dragging his sleeve across his face to try and hide the tears that had started to leak from his eyes.

“Sirius,” Remus shook his head and pinched the bridge of his nose. “Sirius, we were writing out our star charts and I put the Sirius star in the wrong place again,” Sirius’s head snapped up. 

“You did it again? Remus, how can you keep putting my star in the wrong place?” 

“Sorry,” Remus apologised. 

“No worries, just maybe don’t curse my name next time,” 

“I won’t,” Remus promised and hugged Sirius to him. Sirius rested his head against Remus’s shoulder, as they walked back up to Gryffindor tower. Remus was glad they’d sorted that little misunderstanding out. He’d hate for Sirius to think he actually hated him when the opposite was true.

Big Outdoor Type were active on the Bristol, England music scene in the early 1980s. They only have one 7" available on Discogs ("Call You On Sundays b/w Seventeen" on Havasac Records). Bristol Archive Records is remedying that by issuing "Blue Eyed Boy '80-'84" in early April 2026.

If you like your pop served "sophisti-pop" style, then this release is going to hit the sweet spot. I love the sounds of bands like Aztec Camera, The Housemartins, and Prefab Sprout. In the past couple of years, the blog has posted releases by Friends Again and The Pale Fountains that would fit nicely alongside Big Outdoor Type.

Big Outdoor Type was centered around the vocals of Tracey Fuller and the songs of Neil Davidge. Davidge later went on to fame working with Massive Attack.

At the very least, they're acknowledging how close they are again versus distancing them for girlfriends, but I do hope this is hinting at Buddie.

I really hope so too. It’s looking like it’s gonna be a great Buddie season 7.

Friends again!

River graciously forgave Mr. Giraffe for not giving kisses when they were demanded.  Mr. Giraffe's bunny kissing assistants will have to do better going forward.

Really though, I'm going to have to make sure big human can spot me while I'm cleaning her cage out because she was genuinely hurt that she didn't get kisses when she expected them.   The little munchkin acts independent, but she's just a little cuddle-bug when it comes down to it!
