The diving scene in The Spy in Black (1939, directed by Michael Powell, scripted by Emeric Pressburger). A fascinating British spy story set in the WWI, told from the point of view of those on the ‘wrong’ side, the Germans. The leading character is an enemy alien to audience so the audience is asked to identify and sympathize with someone who conflicts with their opinion of good and evil.
