I really wanna see the difference in Maul and Two-Boots raising children in season 2

Cause Two-Boots would be teaching Rylee how to shoot a blaster and if he cut his hand or somethin Two-Boots would be like "Oh goodness Rylee Lawson, here let me see that, oh, well let's get a bandage on it, it's okay you simply have to be careful with these things you know," and he'd be comforting him abt losing Brander and such and then Maul raising Devon is like "no Devon you have to hold the lighter under the spoon"

I love Two-Boots so much he's so funny and adorable

BUT he's also a super interesting character, especially in the current political climate. It really feels like they wanted to remind some people that yes, Star Wars IS political.

He's labelled as just doing what he was programmed to do. Yk, "just doing his job". This is how ICE agents, cops, the nazis, SO many people are labelled. But it's also made clear that he has a choice whether he follows that programming. He says he's supposed to report Maul to the Empire, but Lawson doesn't want him to so he doesn't.

Definitely a reminder that all those people "just doing their jobs" still have a choice.

Also he accomplished getting these 3 to agree on something. Look how they're looking at him.

Not saying I ship Maul x Lawson. In fact I think Maul and Devon’s dynamic is gonna be the central focus of the show, especially given how often we see them together in the trailer footage.

That said, I also thought the shot of Lawson looking at Maul’s hologram was … interesting.

And there are these two bits from the English-Audio Description.

This is how it describes Maul seeing Lawson for the first time in the 1.01 shootout where Lawson arrests Vario:

The spybot zooms in on the investigator for Maul to watch remotely. His yellow eyes widen, and he steps in for a closer look at the mustached man.

And then this is how it describes Maul encountering Lawson during the attack at the police HQ:

(Lawson) witnesses Maul cutting a droid in half with his lightsaber. Lawson opens fire. Maul deflects then Force-pulls the blaster from him and knocks him out with the hilt of his saber. He studies Lawson curiously, then swings his lightsaber back into action and deflects blaster bolts into two more droids before running off.
