Wire's next note is a printed picture of a gun held against the sleeping form of Lulllaby.

You can't protect them all, weakling. Maybe he's next?

Wire slams the note down on his desk and tries to contact Lullaby. He needs to tell him. He's in danger and he will likely not be the only one.

He contacts Lullaby and asks if he's okay and if they can meet. Their meeting on top of the one he has planned with Marlo will make today have a busy schedule. He at least hopes both of them are fine.

"Are you Rosie?", a young clone Captain with three tattooed dots under his left eye and another three under the right corner of his mouth, approaches Rosie after the just left Thorn's bedroom. He must know about the Baby on the inside, he's not an unknown face in Thorn's and Fox's close proximity and he clearly doesn't give the baby sounds on the inside even a single sideglance.

Rosie startles, not expecting to have anyone ask for her, especially not by name. "Yes, sir," she says, straightening and snapping out a salute, "what can I do for you, Captain?" she asks. She can still hear the excited babbling of Soul in the room behind her, clearly excited to see the familiar face of Thorn after a long day.

This is from Captain Lullaby:

Marlo has a hand on his hip and with his free one he throws and catches an egg threateningly. He doesn't smile, face serious, but he has a mischievous look in his eyes as he asks, "Thorn.... where can I find your captain?"

"You really want to bother Marlo? That guy is softer than me!", Lullaby almost snorts at he own joke.

Wire chuckles a bit. "True, he's a softy, but he's also determined. He cares a lot, Lullaby, and that just means that he will do everything he can to make sure you and your men are going to be okay."

Lullaby nods, pulling Wire tight, taking a series of calming breaths.

"It's fine, i'm okay. I'm already doing better. I just panicked. I'm fine. I'm okay."

“I know you’re not, vod. No one is after being in a situation like this. It’s okay not to be okay sometimes.” Wire pulls back from the hug. “I’m glad you told me, I really am. I’ll get this sorted out for you. Could you at least tell me which senator did this to you and your men?”

Maybe 15 minutes later Lullaby approaches Marlo. His nose is beaten blue and he still presses a bloody papertowel against it.

"Thorn said you wished to see me?", he asked, making himself sound more miserable than he actually felt after his argument with Fox.

As soon as Marlo sees his face he gets up from behind his desk and rushes to Lullaby’s side, “Lullaby, What happened!?”

Lullaby blushes before sinking into himself, just staring at the picture with big, watery eyes.

Marlo gets a bit worried when Lullaby stays quiet while looking at it, thinking that the idea of being recorded like that might be uncomfortable for Lullaby or makes him embarrassed. He rubs the back of his neck when he tells him, "I'm... sorry if Wire recording you two has left you feeling uncomfortable. I understand it if it has. I can always ask him to delete it for you, if you want?"
