I had a lot of fun doing the hair on Pyxis’s newer design, and even though the blood stains are probably not 100% accurate I still think it’s a major improvement when compared to the first one.

I think I’ll keep the original design and have him as either a fanboy or an alien Nat meets and it turns out said alien is the equivalent of a hippie/stoner or something.

The crew both admire and find confusion with some of the things Nat pulls.

Valika pretended to not care about Nat, but when Valika saw Nat eating something that is highly toxic to Valika’s species Valika actually screamed and tried to do a Heimlich Maneuver on him.

Nat had to tell Valika that the food is just chocolate, something humans eat all the time.

(Captain Pyxis and Takala tease Valika about it afterwards, never letting Valika live it down because that just proves that Valika actually low-key cares about Nat)

Character Rambles: Captain Pyxis

This man is one of the most feared pirates in the galaxy, but what few people realize is that he is a major dork. He does not understand metaphors and poetry at all, as it is something his species never really showed an interest in.

It gets to the point where he will zone out on anything related to poetry unless the word treasure is used. It could also be due to a language barrier, despite him claiming himself to be a master of the language of other cultures. (His usage of others is choppy at best, and sometimes outright wrong at worst)

However, he has found that he is more versed in one Earth language over all others; Japanese, as it is the most similar to what the people on his planet speak. Any other language he has very basic knowledge over.

When he first met Nat, Captain Pyxis was curious above all else. He finds music to be a very strange concept, but pleasant nonetheless and was planning on unlocking the secrets of Nat’s “Treasure”

He isn’t as ruthless as his crew when it comes to stowaways, as he always finds a use for them whether it be as new members or even exotic pets to be sold to other planets. In his mind, if something has use then it should never be jettisoned out to the void that is outer space.
