Ooo can I please request a Steve x wife!reader where Steve’s wife being dragged into the winter soldier situation when Pierce calls her and lies saying something happened to Steve and she needs to rush to Shield Headquarters and when she comes up she walks in the elevator at the same time as Steve (right before the elevator fight) and he’s like “Y/n? What’re you doing here? Something is off, you shouldn’t be here!” And then all the men start piling onto the elevator and Steve has to protect her and block her while he fights them off🥺 She ends up curling up In the corner of the elevator hiding her face in her knees and crying while Steve fights the men off and after the fight he checks on her and as they can’t get out of the elevator with more men coming their way so he’d have to pick her up and keep her safe while he jumps out of the building and he’d cushion her fall🥺 He’d brush all the glass out of her hair and help her escape with him on his motorcycle 🥺 He’d have her hideout in their apartment while he goes to get the drive and goes on the mission with Nat, and then he’d have her meet him at Sam’s so she can be safe🥺 He’d definitely confront pierce about targeting his wife before the fight with Bucky and then when he’s in the hospital Sam would tell her and they’d have a sweet moment and she’d be so worried about him🥺 Her and Steve would move into the avengers tower so she’d feel safe again🥺

Recently, Steve has been suspecting something suspicious going on at SHIELD. He’s not quite sure what it is so he decided to dig more into it. Around that same time, Pierce decided to call you and make up a lie that something happened to Steve. To him, it’s the perfect way to target you. He looked up your phone number on Steve’s file since you’re listed as his emergency contact and called you. Your phone rang a couple of times before you answered it.
“Hello?” You answered your phone.
“Hello, Mrs. Rogers. It’s Alexander Pierce.” Pierce says.
“Oh, hi, Mr. Pierce. What can I do for you?” You asked.
“I need you to come to SHIELD headquarters urgently. Something happened to your husband.” He makes up.
You felt your heart drop to the pit of your stomach at the thought of something bad happening to your husband.
“I’m on my way.” You say before hanging up.
Pierce chuckles and grins evilly to himself as he set his phone on his desk. You sped through traffic to get to SHIELD faster. Surprisingly, you didn’t get pulled over and get a speeding ticket. Steve would do the same thing for you. When you got to SHIELD’s headquarters, you rushed inside and straight to the elevator. Steve gets on the elevator at the same time as you. You immediately hugged him when you saw him.
“Y/N? What’re you doing here? Something is off! You shouldn’t be here!” Steve says.
“Pierce called me and said something happened to you.” You say.
Before either one of you could say anything else, a bunch of SHIELD- HYDRA agents piled into the elevator. Steve holds you against him with his arms around you to protect you. Steve took a look at the agents in the elevator.
“Move to the corner.” Steve whispers quietly in your ear.
You didn’t question your husband and moved over to the corner of the elevator like he said to. Steve took one more look at the agents.
“Before we get started, does anyone want to get out?” Steve asks.
That’s when a fight broke out in the elevator. Your eyes grow wide and you pressed yourself more against the window as you watched the fight unfold in front of you. You knew that Steve got this, but you couldn’t help but be scared for him.
“Go for Rogers’s wife.” Jasper Sitwell says to one of the agents.
The agent turns around to face you. You stare him straight in his eyes as he rose his weapon to tase you with it. You yelped when he swung his weapon towards you and you quickly ducked to the floor, covering your head with your arms. Steve grabs the agent and knocks him out with one punch.
“Stay the hell away from my wife!” Steve growls.
You remained on the floor of the elevator with your head covered with your arms during the rest of the fight. Then it was just down to Brock Rumlow.
“Woah there, big guy. I just want you to know that it’s nothing personal.” Rumlow says, taking another swing at Steve.
Steve dodges Rumlow’s weapon and grabbed him and knocked him out.
“It kinda feels personal.” Steve says, staring down at Rumlow.
Steve heard you crying in the corner of the elevator. He goes over to you to comfort you. You uncovered your head and immediately hugged your husband.
“Are you ok, sweetheart?” Steve asks softly.
“I think so.” You say, your voice shaky.
Steve pushes the button to get the elevator moving again. As soon as the elevator doors opened, more agents came charging at the elevator. Steve quickly presses the button to close the elevator doors and the button that got it moving. Then he threw his shield at the cables that’s holding onto the elevator, making it come to a stop in between floors. He used all of his strength to open the elevator doors, seeing more agents coming to the elevator. He immediately closes the elevator doors.
“Give up, Rogers! There’s nowhere for you and your wife to go!” One of the agents says.
Steve looks out of the elevator window. He knows it’s dangerous to jump through a window this high up, but he doesn’t have any other choice.
“Wrap your legs around me.” Steve says as he picks you up.
“What are you thinking, Steve?” You asked.
“We’re going out the window.” He says.
“Are you fucking crazy?! That’s dangerous!” You exclaimed.
“I know, but we don’t have any other choice.” He says.
Steve picks you up and you wrap your arms and legs around him tightly. Then he jumps throw the elevator window, glass shattering and going everywhere. He cushioned your fall when you two landed on the ground.
“Are you ok?” He asks softly.
“Yes. Are you?” You asked.
“Yes.” He says.
You got off of Steve and you two stood up from the glass covered ground. Steve gets broken pieces of glass out of your hair and then you two ran to his motorcycle. Your arms were wrapped around his waist tightly as he took you straight home.
“I’ll be back soon, sweetheart. I have to figure out what’s on that drive Fury gave me.” Steve says.
“Stevie.” You say, grabbing his arm.
“I promise I’ll be fine. Natasha will be with me the whole time.” He assures softly.
“You better be.” You say.
Steve kisses you softly before leaving yours and his apartment. Steve went to Camp Lehigh with Natasha. It looks cleared out and abandoned for the most part. As they walked further inside of one of the bases, they found an old computer system with some kind of device that the drive will fit in. Natasha put the drive in the device and it booted up. Then a voice started talking. Steve immediately recognizes the voice. It was the voice of Arnim Zola. Steve and Natasha listened to everything Zola said about HYDRA’s history over the years. Then the conversation took a turn. Well, not really a turn. It was more of something that Zola knows will set Steve off.
“I hear a congratulations are in order, Captain.” Zola says.
“Congratulations for what?” Steve asks.
“You got married. Your wife’s name is Y/N.” Zola says.
“How do you know that I’m married and my wife’s name?” Steve asks.
“Like I said, Captain, I know everything. If I were you, I would make sure nothing horrible happens to her.” Zola says.
Steve knew what Zola meant when he said that. His jaw clenches and he punches the computer screen. A short moment after that, there was an explosion. Steve and Natasha knew that they had to get out of there quickly. The first place they thought to go to is Sam’s house. Steve calls you the second he steps inside of Sam’s house. You felt relieved to see your husband’s name appear on your phone screen. You answered your phone after it rang once.
“Thank god you’re ok.” You say when you answered your phone.
“Sweetheart, listen to me when I say this.” Steve begins softly. “Don’t ask any questions. Come straight to Sam’s house and pay close attention to your surroundings. I’ll explain everything when you get here.” He says.
“Ok. I’m on my way. I love you.” You say.
“I love you too.” He says.
You and Steve hung up the phone and you made your way to Sam’s house. Like Steve said, you paid close attention to your surroundings. You were in the clear and didn’t feel like you were being watched. You knocked on the door to Sam’s house and he immediately opened the door.
“Hi, Sam. Steve told me to come here.” You say.
“He’s in the dining room.” Sam says.
Sam led you to Steve. Steve stood up from the chair at the same time you hugged him tightly.
“You weren’t followed, were you?” Steve asks just to be sure.
“No. I paid close attention to my surroundings like you said.” You say.
“Ok. Good. That’s good.” He says.
“Can you explain what’s going on? Your voice sounded nervous on the phone.” You say.
“Sit down, sweetheart.” He says.
You sat down next to Steve and he explained everything that happened before him and Natasha got to Sam’s house. Your heart drops as he was telling you everything.
“Oh my god! That’s horrible! Are you ok?” You say.
“I’m fine, sweetheart.” Steve assures. “The reason why I told you to come here is because I want you to be safe while we take care of something else.” He says.
You knew what he meant by that. You just couldn’t help but fear that something horrible is going to happen to Steve during that mission.
“Please be careful.” You say softly.
“You know I will, darling.” He says softly.
Before the mission, Steve had to take care of something else first and that’s confronting Pierce on targeting you. When he got to SHIELD, Steve went straight to Pierce’s office.
“Rogers, what can I do for you?” Pierce asks like he didn’t just target you earlier.
“Cut the bullshit and listen very carefully.” Steve begins. “I know why you called and lied to my wife. You did that to target her. Whatever little plan you had planned for her failed. Target my wife again and you’ll be dealing with me.” He says.
“Are you threatening me, Rogers?” Pierce asks.
“No. I’m telling you what will happen if you ever target my wife again.” Steve says.
Pierce couldn’t help but laugh.
“There’s nothing funny about targeting my wife!” Steve says, almost growling.
“That’s not why I’m laughing. I think it’s funny that you think that you really can stop me.” Pierce says.
“Stay the hell away from my wife or you’ll be dealing with me.” Steve says.
Steve left Pierce’s office. That’s taken care of, he can focus on the mission. Now, he’s on the helicarrier standing across from Bucky- actually, the Winter Soldier. Steve didn’t want to fight his best friend, but he doesn’t have a choice. Throughout the fight, he tried to get him to remember himself and who he is, but nothing is working. Right now, the Winter Soldier has Steve pinned to the ground.
“You’re my mission.” The Winter Soldier says.
The Winter Soldier repeatedly threw punches at Steve. Steve could give up and let the Winter Soldier finish his mission, but he’s not going to do that. He’s not going to give HYDRA that satisfaction. He can’t just leave you. You need him and he needs you. He can say one more thing that might get his best friend to remember who he is and himself.
“I’m with you till the end of the line.” Steve says.
The Winter Soldier’s eyes grow wide. He has definitely has heard that before. Then the glass gives out underneath him and Steve. Steve falls into the water while he grabs onto a metal bar. He stares downwards for a few seconds before letting go of the metal bar and falling into the water. Bucky grabs onto Steve and pulls him out of the water, laying him on the shoreline. He looks down at Steve for a second before walking away.
Meanwhile, you’re still at Sam’s house. You were pacing back and forth in the living room and nervously chewing on your nails. You know that Steve gots this, but you couldn’t help but be scared for him. You don’t want to get that call that something happened to your husband one day. You kept telling yourself that Steve is going to be ok to keep yourself from breaking down. You immediately grabbed your phone when it started ringing. It was Sam. You immediately answered your phone.
“Sam, where’s Steve?” You asked.
“Y/N, Steve is in the hospital.” Sam tells you.
Your heart drops to the pit of your stomach and your eyes teared up. You sat down on the couch when your legs almost gave out on you.
“Please tell me he’s ok.” You say.
“The doctors said he’s fine. He’s sleeping right now. You need to come here right away.” He says.
“I’m on my way.” You say before hanging up.
You went to the hospital. Sam texted you what room Steve is in. Steve was still asleep when you got there. He was all bruised and stitched up. You couldn’t help but tear up. You sat down in the chair next to his bedside and gently held his hand.
“What happened to him?” You asked Sam.
“He fought the Winter Soldier.” Sam tells you.
“Oh my god.” You say.
You stayed by Steve’s bedside the whole time. You didn’t leave your husband for a second. Your head was resting on the bed as you held his hand. You prayed silently to yourself for him to wake up. Then finally, Steve woke up. He clears his throat as he wakes up. Your head shot up when you heard him. He looks at you and smiles. You stood up from the chair and hugged him.
“You’re awake!” You say, feeling relieved.
“I am.” Steve says, his voice a bit hoarse.
So much relief washes over you that you started crying.
“Sweetheart, I’m fine.” Steve softly assures.
“I know. I thought-” You got choked up. “I thought I was going to lose you forever and I don’t want that to ever happen.” You cried.
“You’re never going to lose me, darling. I promise.” He says softly.
Steve gazes deeply into your eyes and wipes your tears away. Then he kisses you softly and passionately.
“I love you so much, Stevie.” You say softly.
“I love you too, honey.” He says just as softly.
Steve got out of the hospital a few days later. You took care of him when he got home. You two quickly come to realize that yours and his apartment no longer feels like home anymore, especially since the Winter Soldier shot Fury. You two went apartment hunting together, but none of the apartments you two checked out didn’t feel like home to you guys either. So, when the Avengers compound was built and the Avengers were moving into it, Steve talked to you about moving into the compound as well before making any decisions, in which you agreed to. You two thought moving into the compound is a great idea. Steve thought it would be one of the best ways to keep you even more protected for whatever threat is thrown your way. The compound quickly felt like home to you and Steve. You and him love everything about living there. You decorated yours and his bedroom to make it feel even more like home.
“You finished decorating.” Steve points out, taking a look around yours and his bedroom.
“I did. Do you like it?” You asked.
“I love it and I love you.” He says softly.
“I love you too, sweetie.” You say and kissed him.
