Ship thingy: Jim and Uhura
Which one of them:
spikes the eggnog? Jim. This is definitely a Jim thing, though Nyota isn’t a huge fan of the plain ‘nog herself, so she doesn’t complain when he does — it makes it less sweet and more palatable to her.
hangs the stockings? Nyota. Jim will pull all the Christmas decorations out, but Ny is the one to set them all up, including the hanging of the stockings.
leaves cookies and milk out to keep up with the santa tradition? Jim. Ny thinks it’s silly and will roll her eyes, but she smiles and lets him do it anyway.
"accidentally" throws away the fruitcake? Jim. Nyota will make one, filled with nuts and fruits and then soaked in booze. It’s actually really delicious after you let it soak in the rum and brandy for a few weeks, but Jim holds onto the antiquated notion that fruitcakes are gross and not to actually be consumed.
goes overboard on the whipped cream? Nyota. Every pie or hot cocoa, that cup or plate will be covered in whipped cream.
is the inevitable Christmas grinch? Nyota. It’s not that she doesn’t love Christmas — she does — but she’s more practical about things, and if she’s not careful she’ll come off as a little Grinch-y during the season.
wakes up first on Christmas? Nyota. She likes to let Jim sleep in, since it’s a rare chance he gets. She’ll wake up an hour or so earlier, start some coffee, catch up on some reading and get the breakfast started.
rolls their eyes as the same cheesy carol plays in the stores for the millionth time?Nyota. Like I said, it’s not that she doesn’t like Christmas, she’s just easily annoyed by the repetitive song playing. One can only stand Jingle Bells so long…
starts playing Christmas music the day after Halloween? Jim. He’s super ready for Christmas.
decorates the Christmas tree? Both of them. Ny will put up the rest of the decorations, but putting up the tree is something they do together, they like the time they get to spend close to one another while they trim the tree.
