It felt good to be doing something. In all fairness, Betsy was almost always doing something. She had never been an idle woman, and becoming Captain Britain had only intensified things. Betsy took on responsibility after responsibility because she genuinely cared about what she did and wanted to help things be better across the multiverse. All that responsibility, however, made her a shitty sister at times.
Brian and Betsy Braddock: born from one womb. The twins had begun life together but veered onto wildly different paths. Brian was stalwart and true. Betsy was Psylocke: she had devils she was elated to exorcise. There had been a lot that had happened over the years, and Betsy knew of Brian’s displeasure in her past actions. It had driven a wedge between the two of them before they had decided that they loved each other more than the grudges that they held.
Life as Captain Britain was entirely new, however. Taking on the mantle that had notoriously been her brothers carried a lot of weight. She had an entire legacy riding on her back, and while it was manageable, it was still daunting all the same. That’s why she trained her ass off.
As Psylocke, Betsy had familiarized herself with swords made of energy constructs. The Starlight Sword was a little different but she was getting used to it. Metal clanged against metal as sword connected with sword. Brian was a swordsman at heart, but Betsy was a quick study. They went back and forth disarming one another until Betsy finally dropped her blade, panting.
“Don’t you have a wife to run home to? You can’t enjoy getting your ass kicked that much.”
