Whenever I confront most people in my family about what they would say if I ever came out to them they fix me with this cold look and are like don't be fucking stupid, nobody cares who you date as long as you're a good kid. I love that about them :) (not too sure about my sexuality op)

House pride :) Also I find it super funny (not) when people are like omg Gryffindor is the best house wow heroes and brave and so perfect haha but ew evil Slytherins I just wanna be like brave, perfect Gryffindor Harry! Very much screw you because the sorting hat wanted to put Harry in Slytherin and was like yo but that house is actually awesome and you'd achieve great things in it. No? Alright fine if you wanna be a prejudiced asshole in Gryffindor you go.

Yes I agree! I mean I don't mean to say that everyone in Gryffindor is prejudiced, because Hermione definitely wasn't. She believed in equality. But it was the culture they were brought up with. Slytherin is bad and Slytherin is evil, but the reason they turned evil was because they weren't afraid to work in the grey, like the Gryffindors, except some bad apples ruined it for the whole house.

Everyone brings up Peter Pettigrew as an example of a bad Gryffindor but nobody tries to understand that the bravest of them all, Albus Dumbledore contemplated genocide, and mass murder and a lot of other horrible things, convinced he was doing a greater good, all while dabbling in some seriously dark magic. He chose the right path later, but he still dabbled. And that's exactly what Snape, RAB and Draco did. They realized the true way later and people give them shit for it.

I get why people in Harry's time where prejudiced but come on, as a reader with the whole story in front of you, I don't understand why some people still believe in that stereotype.

Unpopular opinion about Slytherin? (Or just talk about your favourite slytherin trair :) )

I really hate it when people think Slytherin is evil, and cunning and everyone turns out like Jafar. That is so not true because people in Slytherin want to achieve greatness, and leave a legacy behind, and they are such aspirers and dreamers and they are ambitious. They are also motivated to do things because they want to make it big in the world. Only toerags like Tom Riddle and his Death Eaters changed things and made a few of them racist, which ended up giving them a bad name. Slughorn was from a time before Tom, and he was amazing! RAB turned himself around. So did Andromeda Black. The Malfoys ended up giving up their power for family. They are so hated on and people are all like ugh slytherin eww cant believe im in it, but the truth is even Harry Potter who hated them for so long understood that Slytherin is just like every other house.
