I’ve actually considered taking T just to be able to balance out some of the femininity; voice change, muscle tone, all that fun stuff. But ultimately I agree it’s important that gender should not be based solely on one’s expression.
i've been considering taking t too, but... i feel so weird. for wanting to take it? like it's reserved for ftm, like if i take it i'll be too masculine to be nb, or something. but yeah. i wish there wasn't so much stigma surrounding femininity then anyone could be feminine and we wouldn't be arguing about it

I feel like it doesn’t help that “androgyny” usually focuses on not having any secondary sex organs (such as breasts) and if they are noticeable then you can’t have true androgyny.
that's a good point too!! "androgyny" has become this sort of "in-between" gender expression, where you can't be TOO feminine--in fact you can't be feminine at all--because masculine is the standard for "in-between" and that doesn't make any sense at all! when we promote people with gender expressions outside the binary, we need to promote dfab nonbinary people that show femininity as an aspect of androgyny. there's no real "true" androgyny--and i wish we could scream that out to the world because the standards for androgyny are ridiculous. if i want to have a beard and breasts and a dress i will and i'll be androgynous too.

And consider how many people might live in areas without access to the internet, or have restrictions in place to prevent them from being open about it, etc.
RIGHT RIGHT HELL YEAH
my point was more like, "people on the internet are more willing to talk about it/will be more open with their identities than people you meet irl who you won't know if they're lgbtqiap+ right away or not"
BUT THAT'S AN EXCELLENT POINT TOO
Nonromantic partners adopting stray teenagers who deserve loving parents and don't have them for various reasons and raising them as their heirs so there's no political pressure to have one "the old fashioned way"?
