Tolkien ask no 4 and 20 pls :3
Sorry this took so long to answer!
4. What passage in Tolkien’s books or in any of the films/shows/media speaks to you the most?
Oooh hoo boy okay there's a LOT to choose from here! As I said in the other ask about favourite songs, I love love love Aragorn and Legolas' Lament for Boromir' it's just beautiful and lyrical and evocative and so fucking sad. However, the bit that has always stuck with me the most, out of all of the Tolkien media I've consumed, was the first time I read Bilbo's confrontation with Smaug. It doesn't "speak to me" as such, but I have such vivid memories of reading Bilbo speak in riddles and being so enamoured with the idea of having to speak to dragons in riddles, like a fae creature you don't want to know your name, that it's still my favourite passage from the book today.
20. What is your favorite Tolkien universe headcanon? Why did you choose to accept it?
There are some truly wonderful fan interpretations of Dwarf lore, culture and language, and I choose to accept most anything that is creative enough. I love the hair braiding rituals, where different braids denote social station, relationship status, family links and generations, jobs and trades, etc. I love the concept of Dwarven trade guilds, of stone sense, of Dwarven songs and festivals, the whole shebang. I also love the dark-haired Legolas headcanons, because of reasons. Maybe my favourite completely inconsequential one, though, is that since Sam named his sons after his friends and family, and his daughters after flowers (as is Hobbit tradition) except his daughter Goldilocks, she is instead named for the elf that saved them after Frodo was injured at Weathertop; Glorfindel!
