017. When does your character think that violence is justified or deserved?

As a rule, Pax doesn’t support violence…but when quick, targeted acts of violence towards few will end the suffering of so many thousands of others…it’s hard to say no. He has treated and lost too many young soldiers fighting another man’s endless war.

029. What sort of sense of humor does your character have?

Definitely towards the drier side, leaning towards gallows humor. In his line of work, you have to make jokes to keep yourself sane and Pax is no exception.

034. What’s their view of lying?

Can’t stand it. Patients lying to him is the quickest way for those patients to end up dead, which is endlessly frustrating for him.

066. Does your character prefer city life or being out in nature?

City for sure. He’s spent his whole life either in cities or on battlefields; nature is not exactly something he is comfortable with.

077. How often do they cry? Over what?

He doesn’t cry nearly as often as he probably should. He’s seen some shit, man. He’s spent most of his life around soldiers and they also don’t tend to be the crying type. Every once in a while, he’ll have a patient with a story that really hits home and he’ll get teary, but he can’t remember the last time he really cried.

002. Do they do anything to celebrate their birthday?

        Leti used to! Birthdays used to be a huge deal to her. They were one of the few times where food was plentiful and she got to get all dolled up. Every year for her birthday she would spend the morning with some of the elder women (who she considered aunts and grandmothers) and her mother, and they’d braid colorful ribbons into her hair and help her get dressed and she’d get her first gift which was their time and the ribbons and often jewelry that had been passed down or saved for the occasion and her favorite breakfast pastry that she loved to crack open and savor. She’d spend the afternoon with her family after that, and there’d be family games of cards and family presents when they were able to, and then that evening most of the town would be invited to come and have dinner with them and someone would always play music and someone would always tell stories and she loved it. Now she doesn’t really do anything for her birthday. 

009. Do they believe in happy endings?

       Somewhat. Leti believes in hope. It’s something that drives her. She also believes that there are good people in the universe, but she doesn’t believe everyone gets a happy ending and that everything will be alright in the end. For as much as there are good people, so too are there those who are nothing but evil.

025. What do they consider beautiful in others personality-wise?

       As much as it worries her, Leti loves seeing someone passionate and committed to their beliefs. It worries her because she knows the lengths they’ll go for their values, but she finds it beautiful. She also thinks people who are serene and able to stay calm, those who are nurturing and dependable, are beautiful. 

037. If your character saw someone drop a large sum of money and knew that they could probably take it without anyone noticing, what would they do?

         Leti believes in honesty and grew up in a community that would do the right thing, so honestly, she’d pick up the money and go after the person she saw drop it to return it. 

063. How well does your character handle difficult people?

         Fairly well! She’s disciplined and doesn’t usually betray her true feelings very easily. She’d meet them with sternness but she’d be lacking more warmth and if they were untrustworthy she’d be quite selective with her words, very short in her answers. She’d get frustrated if they were obnoxious though, and she might be inclined to just walk away.

    rokin keeps his eyes on the arm he’s starting to pick apart. with the tiny tweezers, he begins to lodge in small seeds. “in a couple weeks, i will begin to spout and it will be safe to say i will be unable to leave the ship for this mission. i will be too busy untangling my wires from all the little roots in my arm.” he looks up, shrugging. “case closed. now let me get back to work.”

004. Do they prefer being alone or with others?

rokin really respects his own alone time. i don’t think it comes down to which he prefers because i think he respects both in his life. he might lean more towards spending time with others since his life has become so rooted in establishing memories and having excitement in his life. at the end of the night, rokin does really enjoy just laying in bed by himself and reading a book or something of the nature. when he’s around people he’s on, and him being on is a lot of energy for him. he’s got one large personality and it’s not exhausting because it’s fake, it’s very much who he is, but his batter does run out and he does get to be a sleepy boy after the goofs and the gaffs.

015. Are they most likely to fight with their fists or their tongue?

HAH !  fighting? you think this weasel man fights? come on. rokin always had people fight for him. he likes to stand behind people much bigger than him and point and say ‘beat them up for me!’ or when he knows people with a quicker tongue than him, he’ll stir some shit so they go do his bidding. he’s a bit more cunning that way, and people don’t really notice because he is a bumbling idiot most of the time. frankly, he doesn’t often get into situations where he has to face his fights. he’d rather just run than manipulate someone to do it for him. fighting’s not fun. there’s no excitement in getting punched in the face or hurting his feelings. he can just jump on a ship and go to another part of the planet--- or galaxy, and the problem (usually) solved.

021. How do they display affection?

i wouldn’t believe rokin to be an affectionate person. not overly so, but more than average. i think he is a touchy person. i would say his love languages are touch and quality time (gifts would be a close call in there as well). he’s a Positive Emotions Only™ kind of guy so he wants to be able to show that to people he appreciates. wants to ask you how your day is and pat you on the head and engage with you. without people, life is extremely lonely, and he wants to display affection in ways that show people that he values them being in his life.

067. Does your character believe in fate or destiny?

rokin believes in it in a very whimsical sense. i don’t think it’s the existential way of lack of free will. sort of depends on the day and his mood. sometimes he believes that the pain he suffered was to land him this wonderful journey of exploring and making memories no one could ever have. other times he just thinks life is some freak coincidence and nothing really matters. just sort of depends how high his head is in the clouds.

079. How easy is it for them to read the emotions of others?

i believe rokin is good at empathy, that being said, i don’t think he’s the greatest at cuing in on when it’s good. if you tell him something sad, he’ll be able to go ‘that must be really hard, and i understand that you’re in pain’ because he’s been through tremendous unfortunate circumstances and he knows he’s not the only one. but if you’re not saying anything, and your body language is the only thing, he’ll have a hard time understanding that you’re upset or not in the mood. he’s much better with you just saying it than him trying to piece it together. he’s not fully blind to it. he certainly could be better, though.
