For the fandom ask: The Hobbit, of course!

Oooh!

1.  The first character I ever fell in love with:

Bilbo.  I just love how Martin Freeman plays him.  A very, very, VERY close second is Bard.  For obvious reasons.

2.  A character that I used to love/like but now do not:

Legolas.  He was entirely too Superman and just . . . threw off the narrative in terrible ways AND NO ONE WANTS TO SEE ELF PARKOUR.  He’s probably why there wasn’t much of Fili.  

3.  A ship that I used to love/like but now do not:

I don’t know that I have one.  My core ships from that movie set are still my adored ships.  This will have to remain a non-answer.  :D

4.  My ultimate favorite character:

Bard.  I love Bard.  I mean, I love Luke Evans but he plays Bard so fucking well.

5.  Prettiest character:  

Kili.  Stupid Aidan Turner.  Followed very closely by Thranduil/Bard/Thorin.

6:  Most hated character:

ALFRID.  FUCK WHY?!  So much unnecessary screen time.  I wanted to Nair his forehead, too.

7:  My OTP

Three-way split:  Barduil, Bagginshield, and Figrid.

8:  My NOTP

The icky sibling-cest that seems to crop up in the Bagginshield tag.

9:  Favorite episode movie:

An Unexpected Journey.  It sets it all up so freaking well and I just love watching Thorin and Bilbo be stupid around each other.

10:  Saddest death:

THORIN.  BUT IT DIDN’T HAPPEN SO I GUESS IT DOESN’T COUNT.

11:  Least favorite season movie

Battle of the Five Armies as structurally, it’s a little messy and disjointed and also, it has a terribly stupid OOC ending HOW DARE.

12:  Character that everyone else in the fandom loves but I hate:

Dunno that I have one.  If this was LoTR, I’d probably have an answer.  But otherwise not really.

13:  My “you’re a piece of trash, but you’re still a fave” fave:

Bofur.  He’s not really a piece of trash but he’s such a dipshit and I love him.

14:  My “beatiful cinnamon roll who deserves better than this” fave:

Bilbo.  He’s supposed to retire to the Shire with his dumbass dwarf husband.

15:  My “this ship is wrong, nasty, and makes me want to cleanse my soul but I still love it” ship:

I got nothin’ for this one either.

16:  My “they’re kind of cute, and I lowkey ship them, but I’m not too invested” ship:

Kiliel.  Very cute, very shoehorned, but I can take it or leave it.

Legolas for the ask meme!

How I feel about this character: you know that post where it’s like ‘when you see a character who hasn’t been fleshed out enough in canon’ and then a picture of a copying machine? yeah

Any/all the people I ship romantically with this character: nobody. well - okay, i enjoy romantic gigolas content but i very much see them as queerplatonic!

My favorite non-romantic relationship for this character: gigolas <3

My unpopular opinion about this character: legolas is aroace! i see a lot of gay legolas content, which is great, but to me he will always be aroace. specifically i see him as oriented aroace / gay aroace but definitely the aroace part is super important to me!

One thing I wish would happen / had happened with this character in canon: i just wish there was more of him in canon?? he’s probably the most chronically underdeveloped of the fellowship. i love what tolkien gave us but he’s So Good and deserves MORE - you can really tell that he was a replacement for glorfindel!

Favorite friendship for this character: i really love aragorn + legolas’s friendship in the lotr movies, and i have SO MANY headcanons for tauriel + legolas being bffs!!

My crossover ship: i don’t really do crossovers? and i don’t really ship legolas with anyone other than gimli. idk how much of a ‘crossover’ it is if it’s literally in the same universe but i love fili + legolas being friends! also, legolas + taako, you know, from tv? their interactions would be SO FUNNY, just two twinks trying to aggressively out-Extra each other lol

“You did what?!” “It’s not that big of a deal” “You killed a man!”

“Man is a very loose term after all.  It was one of Sauron’s . . . grunts.”

Bard sighed and covered his face.  Which reminded him his gun was still unholstered.  He hastily stuffed it back in the leather clip at his side and stepped into Thranduil’s space.

“I cannot help you if you murder people in front of me.”

Unperturbed, Thranduil slipped his own weapon back into his shoulder holster.  “Intruder.”

“What?”

Thranduil gestured at the body cooling on the front steps.  “Intruder.  I feared for my life.”  He loomed over the corpse.  “’Help, help, police’ and all that.”  He turned then grinning.  “Ah good, the police are here.”  He sidled up to Bard and purred, “Officer, I feel faint.  Please catch me.”

Bard reddened and grabbed him by the upper arm.  “Don’t you dare or I’ll leave you on the floor.”  

Thranduil pouted.  “You’re no fun.”

He let go of Thranduil and gave the body a worrying look.  “I have to call this in.”

“Or, you let my people do what they do best.”

Bard was afraid of that.  “Thranduil, I can’t.  I have a duty --”

“Better plan,” Thranduil remarked, drawing his gun a second time.  

Bard stiffened, eyes wide.  “What plan?”

“Just this,” Thranduil murmured, his arm disappearing behind Bard.  “Oh, dear; seems the intruder has incapacitated a visiting law officer; whatever shall I do?”

Confused now, Bard began to drill him again when pain exploded in the back of his head.  He groaned and sank into Thranduil, head throbbing.  As darkness stole over him, he could have sworn he felt Thranduil’s lips on his temple.

A, T, U for the ask meme!

A - Ships that you currently like a lot. (They don’t have to be OTPs because not everyone has OTPs.) Friendships, pairings, threesomes, etc. are allowed.

You know I’m still mostly stuck in Once, so it’s going to be Once related. LOL. DragonQueen, Dragon Outlaw Queen, Outlaw Queen. Snow Queen is my always and forever OTP. Evil Snowing. Curious Archer. Knight Rook and Regal Believer for the platonic ships. I have some ideas kicking around my head for Shadow Queen since that ship was so under-served in the show. Let’s see, outside of Once, I’m enjoying some Georgieu-centric femmeslash pairings over in the Star Trek Discovery fandom. I think that’s pretty much it at the moment.

T - Do you have any hard and fast headcanons that you will die defending?

Regina is a Gryffindor. I will cut a bitch over this one. LOL. Also, as discussed before of Regina as a dominant. Or at the very least not a submissive. I actually don’t really headcanon her as often in power exchange relationships as I once might have. Um. Those are the two that come to mind other than to change gears to Doctor Who and say that I don’t see the Doctor as a sexual being. Yeah, I know he had a granddaughter in the classic series. I’ve just never seen Doctor Who as a show where romance played a part from his side (not speaking of companions who developed crushes, of course). That and I have left from watching the show because Time Lords should be Time Lords and Time Ladies should be Time Ladies. Yes, I know I now have to burn my progressive and feminist cards. Shoot me.

U - Three favorite characters from three different fandoms, and why they’re your favorites.

LOL. Well this is going to be predictable.

Regina Mills - I’ll admit, when I was still a GA “fan” of the show, I always liked her (and her outfits) but I never fell in love with her until after the bullshit that happened in my private life 3 years ago. Then it was like a light-bulb going off and I really empathised with her on another level.

Severus Snape - I always thought of him as the person I might have become if I hadn’t had friends in school and if I’d been constantly bullied. I was lucky to have good parents and the knack for making friends despite being an uber shy introvert, but I could see a lot of his issues in myself, just to a lesser degree. I hated him at first, of course, but then when we got a glimpse into his past, then I couldn’t hate him any more.

Legolas - because he’s pretty and I’m shallow. :)

I love those things! I have a ton that I've had since I was really young. I'm pretty sure I have that kitty too!

I adored them and would collect them whenever I could.  I had a few of the horses but those little legs are damn delicate.
