+ camping: he’s never been before (at least not properly, the war doesn’t count), not until sam proposes a weekend trip. they take a drive into VA, set up tents at a site on the coast. it’s a nice breather, he hasn’t had time to even just stare at the stars in so long. the sound of the waves lulls him into such a refreshing sleep. also he & sam low-key prank war each other during the whole trip, including the drive.

+ mornings: he’s a naturally early riser. the serum means he doesn’t *need* coffee but he enjoys the taste & the ritual of it. then he goes for his 8 million mile run or whatever the fuck. what the fuck who does that lmao. the point is, it’s the routine that’s important, that feels good.

+ cap statue: ok like that fanart from earlier, HE’S SO EMBARRASSED IT FEELS LIKE THE USO TOUR ALL OVER AGAIN SOMEHOW lmao. but then, just like the exhibit at the smithsonian, he passes by & sees children, families, fellow vets, etc. enjoying the statue, & maybe it’s okay to take a little pride in himself as a symbol. 

+ thunderstorms: they scared him as a rly little kid so his mom would try to distract him by turning up the radio & dancing him around their little living room. they don’t scare him anymore ofc but he’ll still listen to like, big band stuff when they happen. what a nostalgic sap <3
