Getting Started with Auto Shipping
You have decided that you are going to ship your vehicle, and you have chosen what company you want to work with…..what now?
The idea is that the company that you chose, hopefully BullDog Transport, has already given you a window for the pick up of the vehicle. With this information, you are then able to coordinate and plan your schedule so its not too much of an inconvenience in your schedule. Unfortunately, the planning does not always work out as smoothly as it should. Ultimately, these are large car carriers that have to transport multiple vehicles for multiple customers.

What now?
Communication is the largest contributor to successful Auto Transportation. The more information the driver has, the more that he can offer in regards to scheduling and availability. If he/she does not know when you are available, the pick up process immediately becomes more complicated. This is were the broker or carrier is suppose to step in to help in making this process occur as smooth as possible. Provide as much information as possible, ask as many questions as you can so everything is crystal clear.
For example; you have scheduled for a pick up on a Saturday because you work throughout the week. It can only be Saturday and you clarify with the original sales person. The sales person then communicates with the driver so they do not show up on Friday expecting you to release the vehicle.
The process seems like common sense, but there is many times that there is a slip in communication and the driver gets the impression that there is no vehicle to transport at all because it cannot be release when he/she arrives onsite.
To recap, this is the MOST important process working up the pick up of the vehicle. It has to be very clear when and where we can load the vehicle(s). The more information that we have, or another company has, the smoother the process is. In fact, take advantage of discount offers if there is no immediate rush to pick up the vehicle. Trucking companies in general always favor long pick up windows because it gives them the time to find the most economical and quality driver.
