Ingredients: 1 lb ground beef. 4 burger buns. 4 slices of bacon. 2 large onions, thinly sliced. 1/2 cup beer your choice. 2 tbsp brown sugar. 1 tbsp butter. 4 slices of cheddar cheese. Salt and pepper to taste. Lettuce, tomato, and condiments for garnish.
Instructions: In a skillet, cook the bacon until crispy. Remove and set aside. In the same skillet, add butter and onions. Cook over medium-low heat until onions start to caramelize, about 15-20 minutes. Sprinkle brown sugar over the onions and continue to cook until they turn a deep, golden brown. Pour in the beer to deglaze the pan, scraping up any browned bits from the bottom. Simmer until the liquid has reduced and the onions are caramelized, about 5 minutes. Season with salt and pepper. While the onions are caramelizing, divide the ground beef into 4 equal portions and form them into burger patties. Season with salt and pepper. Preheat your grill or stovetop griddle to medium-high heat. Cook the burger patties for about 4-5 minutes per side for medium-rare or longer for your desired doneness. In the last minute of cooking, place a slice of cheddar cheese on each patty and cover until melted. To assemble the burgers, place lettuce and tomato on the bottom half of each bun. Top with a cheesy burger patty, caramelized beer onions, and crispy bacon. Add your favorite condiments, and finish with the top half of the bun. Serve hot, and enjoy your Caramelized Beer Onion and Bacon Burgers!
