I actually LOVE collecting. My life long collection has been stuffed animals and I have like a billion of them (on my bed alone, I have over ten). I also collect things related to my interests. My biggest, non stuffed animal collections I have are kpop albums and hockey cards. Collection is kinda the way I love things if I must be honest.
gonna get so annoying. I will kindly try to keep this to one.
Estrella Moontide
Art courtesy of my bsf who I have built this OC with intertwined with hers. That is their nature.
Estrella Moontide (they/them) and Cassiel Solannis (she/her) were originally d&d characters used in a campaign that eventually retired but we got obsessed with these characters anyway with their sun and moon aesthetic. Estrella is an Aasimar Paladin who worships a goddess of the moon/ocean/water etc. The specifics are nebulous. Simply because it can be flexed to fit whatever universe they're in because that's the gimmick!
Cassiel and Estrella (see #Casstrella) are beloved and fated for each other in every universe....all the cliches of knowing your lover in every life apply to them. Literally. We have written so many different alternate universes and played with their dynamic more than I can count. They also have 7 kids.
Another sketchy from bsf feat. Cassiel
Estrella is my first real baby child thing and I adore them. They're strong willed, passionate, determined, sometimes take things too literally but under it still a little smug and confident in their abilities. They have very deadpan humor which is so endearing. Also #1 devotee of all time ever to Cassiel. I'm not kidding. They do biblical levels of wrath and destruction for her.
They always meet somehow and usually a consistent is the sun and moon dynamic they have. They often wear these sun and moon earrings they traded half of to the other and in some universes also braid a lock of the others hair into theirs. It's just soft sentimental things like that about them that make me gush.. <3
More sketches from bsf I have collected. I remind u yet again they have 7 kids together so do not be surprised that Estrella is a DOG.
I have so much written for these two it's not funny. I'll end with a little work I'm pretty proud of that kinda highlights their dynamic (should reading it be of any interest):
Estrella never usually thought they were the kind of person who was dependent. They were always told of their prophesied greatness and the following responsibility which made them believe for the longest time they were to live such a life alone. But thinking about it now, Cassiel Solannis simply wasn’t made to let that happen. With Cassiel, Estrella had noticed small habits, desires, efforts and changes in themself - very often for the better. She had wormed her way into every little crevice of their life. With her, things like matching clothes seemed much more… appealing. Estrella usually always stood out in their appearance, alone, but the idea of matching cozy coats with her in the fall was something that had Estrella keeping their eyes out at the tailor. She looked best in a soft gold, perhaps a warm fox fur lining, too.
There were other things as well, like how they could not seem to be tired of her commentary of her books while they spent time together reading. Estrella could not ever stop the faint smile of their lips as she would discuss her thoughts as the characters did something objectively stupid or wonderfully sweet. It didn’t matter if they barely could make progress on their own reading if it meant that they could hear her darling voice with that adorably charming accent spill curses or praise for her stories. Their book would be limp in their lap, disregarded as Cassiel would echo back the lines, reciting perfect prose. They would nod along, agreeing with her words, only sometimes pushing back if only to get her to speak more. Sometimes, she’d catch on, getting flustered and scolding them for letting her go on so much. Other days, Estrella swears Cassiel realizes what they’re doing, but indulges them anyway if only so she can continue speaking her mind as she wished.
Estrella would soon rarely find themself enjoying things alone. Their mind overtaken by a voice that would point out how much better it would be if Cassiel was here. It was almost pathetic. Their motivation for anything outside temple walls or social events was totally nonexistent when Cassiel’s family would go to the countryside for vacations. It wasn’t the same without her, so Estrella didn’t bother. They would wait for her return, keeping to themself and being rarely seen. Jokes rose about among the kids saying Estrella was actually a figment of imagination that could only be seen by all when the Solannis’ were in town. Estrella would never deny it.
There were other things, too, that changed about Estrella when Cassiel was there. One thing for sure was Estrella’s attempts to…understand others. She always encouraged them to go beyond their comfort levels for others. Her empathy unending and always finding a way to rub off on them. They would do their best to hear others out and actually understand what they were trying to say instead of taking everything at face value (Estrella didn’t fully understand yet why everyone can’t just say what they mean but Cassiel insists it’s about having a sense of tact.) Many would comment how, with Cassiel, Estrella would seem more…alive, lifelike, not so untouchable and distant. Gasps sometimes spilled in the room to see them smile ever so slightly with her around. It was mildly irritating to them but Cassiel’s glowing pride and smile when they would kindly hold conversation with others was something Estrella definitely chased to see.
Estrella quickly realized, they didn’t want to wake up a single day unable to see her shining golden eyes, to touch her soft waves, running the threads of her hair in their fingers. They didn’t want to imagine an evening at a ball where they wouldn’t be able to hear her chime of laughter through the crowd. Her name became like sweet molasses, clinging to their mind and leaving the ache of her sugar on their teeth. Cassiel, Cassiel, Cassiel, Cassiel! They wanted a lifetime of everything she had to offer. They simply could not live without it. So when they were both curled to the couch one fall night, the embers slowly dying on the fire, Estrella easily uttered the simple words.
“I love you.”
It held more sincerity than anything they had ever said. It was a promise, a question, a confession, an oath, a fact. It was their heart. Cassiel had changed them only for the better, there was no way Estrella could ever live without her. She was everything to them. They would spend the rest of their breath proving that if she asked. Estrella loved Cassiel and as foolish as love might make them, they would want to be nothing else but if it was for her.
