Here are some Union Flags that have St. David’s Cross added to them. The first one is my favourite, the black is a little too stand-out on the others.
A crown and some waves. Simple I suppose. I was running out of enthusiasm just writing down all those little islands, important though they are. Like the Crown Dependencies, this assumes the territories want a more obvious and active part in governance.
I kinda like this one, not too complicated. This assumes the crown dependencies would like to get more involved as a unit with the mainland.
London. It’s populous and strange enough to be it’s own thing, and I believe that’s the right flag for as much of it as possible, rather than the City of London or however that works.... See, strange enough to be it’s own thing! Anyway, in this model London is more of a capital province, with Westminster still being the seat of power for country as a whole.
I was so giddy when all of a sudden this one came together. Finding a circular Buckinghamshire emblem was a godsend for symmetry. Add the arms of the smaller chunks of the heptarchy and this one really appeals to my eye.
I really like this one. I might have got away with just the (what is usually accepted as) flag of Wessex, but some little voice said that might not be quite fair to Cornwall. So I took the black of St Piran’s Cross and slipped it between the red background and gold dragon (Wyvern? Wyrm? Amphithere?). I think it looks quite smart. I did muck around here a bit, started stacking crosses on each other like crazy, even got Brittany involved with Cornwall separately, but that’s a pot for another time.
