Honestly I have so many issues with the writing in it particularly clint yeah. And I was excited about them referring to each as best friends but just ??? he just fucked it up. tumblr replies are too short for me to say anything logical

also. they are best friends. they’re the bestest friends. he refers to her as his ‘work wife’ (fraction’s hawkeye) and that’s so interesting to me that they have that relationship whether it’s fully platonic, partially platonic, very very not platonic. just GIVE THEM SCREEN TIME TOGETHER JEESUS 

also. there was STUFF happening in cap 2 she was wearing an arrow necklace WHY MUST U DISREGARD OTHER PEOPLE’S WRITING JOSS

I read it as as adult on my own free time, with my own copy of the book. I think that can make all the difference about how much something impacts you.

It sure hurt me though. 

To be honest. I didn't particularly like Winston, though I don't think that's integral to enjoying a book. If he were an actual person, he wouldn't be someone I could identify with strongly or someone I would want to be in the company of, but how much I could sympathize with the conflicts of the main characters surprised me and it got me pretty invested, even knowing there wasn't an optimistic ending. 

I feel like it's usually hard to communicate in words the feeling that nineteen eighty-four did at its end. At least for me. I feel like it's hard to get internal damage or stress across to a reader compared to physical damage

But it managed to convey this really horrific kind of intense helplessness.

♥ —— A headcanon about my character’s eyes.

Her eyes are actually kind of bad — if she lived in modern times, she would have to wear glasses. It’s not necessary that she can see clearly in her line of work, dragons are huge and she doesn’t need to be precise to stab them somewhere squishy, but when Melka walks in holding a rabbit she caught, Tatiana has to squint to tell for sure that it isn’t a fish.

☁ —— A headcanon about my character’s skin.

She has freckles that came on with age. Many children outgrow their freckles after a few years, but hers spread from her cheeks to her chin and down her neck and up her arms the older she grew. More popped up between the ones she’d had for years, and some were a little larger too. Her mother had blamed it on the constant exposure to dragon’s fire.

☺ —— A headcanon about my character’s feet.

Tatiana has tough feet, and that is relative to the other barefoot pilgrims of her world. Her shield doesn’t always cover them, and the hair on the top of her feet was singed off while she was slaying a dragon years ago. She is used to it, although towards the end of it, her pregnancy makes it so that her feet and ankles swell and she takes to wrapping her feet in cloth to make walking a little easier.

FUCKING THANKYOU. I read the book it was based on and went in with so many expectations and was so disappointed and it treated women SO FUCKING TERRIBLY

read this one cracked article, or at least the #5 bit. essentially all my feelings. i haven't read the book.

i think my art teacher genuinely thinks i should teach art can u imagine that my students would be like 'i don't know what to do, miss, i don't really have an idea behind this' and i'd be like 'lol fuck the bos draw dragons or something ooh draw dragons saying 'fuck the bos' draw whatever the fuck you want do i look like i give a shit' and then probably cry for 10 hours because flashbacks

i also have a folder called 'unis n stuff' and that keeps all my links for potential courses. it's good stuff
