7: What was your most embarrassing moment in front of a doctor? 

“ all i’m gonna say is that nobody told me when you go in for a physical it’s, like, a full body inspection. and their hands are cold. stuff shrinks in the cold. ”

17: If someone were to take over your body in this very instant, what would you need to brief them on?

“ your cat is really into sitting on your head at any given moment and will leap from the bookshelf just to get on said head. if you didn’t like spicy food before, you do now. your dad is real bad at holding a conversation. also, you take big shits. it’s how you eat so much. ”

29: What's the most useless thing you still have memorized? 

“ i learned the first five hundred digits of pi to win a dumb school competition once. i still know all of ‘em because i made a song. even more useless: all the lyrics to ice, ice baby. to be fair, there aren’t that many. ”

☗ What you’d find in their cabinets

in her actual bedroom/bathroom there’s a whole lotta makeup and skin care/hair care/etc products, most of which she accumulates and doesn’t really know how to use. she watches a lot of youtube makeup tutorials but her usual makeup look is pretty straightforward because that shit is intimidating as hell. she is, however, working on her winged eyeliner game. she’s getting pretty good at it if she does say so herself. ryan is also the last person on earth with a dvd/bluray collection. a lot of them are pretty random because she always buys secondhand $2 dvds just to check them out and is sort of a hoarder and never gets rid of them.

✓ What a typical Tuesday night looks like

on tuesdays ryan and robbie have karate. ryan is not somebody who is especially passionate about karate or anything, but her brother reeeeeally wanted to do it, and it was a lot easier on her parents if they just signed both their kids up, which is kind of embarrassing because ugh, mom, ryan is four years older than robbie, robbie is ten, she doesn’t need to be out in the world with robbie all the time! however, that also means she’s supposed to finish her homework before karate, which she almost never does. ryan is a decent student who gets pretty much all of her assignments done on time, but that doesn’t mean she’s going home right after school to do more school, okay. post-karate is dinner, followed by family tv time, aka time when ryan half watches tv and half does her homework, and then goes home to try to catch up with her friends from her old school, meaning a lot of texting and snapchatting and tweeting. however, as time goes on and the school year progresses, this becomes less and less of a nightly occurrence. 

☃ What they wear around the house

ryan loves her a good pair of adidas athletic shorts and a graphic t-shirt of some kind for just lounging around the house, usually combined with a pair of mismatched but colorful socks. ( she likes wearing two different socks that have the same design but different colors. ) if it’s colder she’ll probably wear leggings or maybe sweatpants instead. she’s also a fan of onesies, because everyone should be a fan of onesies.

silk: does your muse care about appearances much? do they spend a lot of time on their own appearance, or do they just go with the flow each day?

mayu claims she doesn’t care about appearances, but she is definitely judgemental about how other people look. she doesn’t appreciate when people look slovenly or are really ecclectic and distracting in looks. so if someone asks and she doesn’t like how they’re dressed, she’ll lie and say you look “fine” but it’s pretty obvious in her face.she has a routine, so as long as that routine happens she goes with the flow. if something goes wrong, it can wreck her whole day. she wears a minimal amount of makeup and tries to make her hair tidy and cute, but she usually gives up and puts it in a bun or in braids.

cadmium yellow: what subjects or topics does your muse avoid, because they bring up harmful / painful memories?

horses LOL, her brother, she and her brother used to be quite close despite his being five years older, but he had lofty dreams, none practical. he fought constantly with their parents over his apparently laziness and refusal to make the smart, practical decisions. eventually he left and went to community college, a compromise he made with their parents. but, he dropped out in less than a year. he’s a source of great pain and shame for mayu’s parents, and it has affected how she sees her brother. she loves him, but she thinks he’s a bit of a loser, which hurts him a lot.

crimson: how passionate is your muse about the things they love most?

she is all about science and volleyball so she’s intensely passionate about both. she’s especially fond of chemistry. it seems like magic, but you can explain it down to the molecule, and when you can’t, you figure it out. she loves that about science and math. volleyball is something she enjoys doing, but she doesn’t really have plans to do it outside of highschool, which she’s secretly really sad about.

horse toys. she was def a horse girl when she was younger, so she has tones of horse figures and dolls. she got to ride a horse for her thirteenth birthday. unfortunately, it threw her and she broke her wrist. she’s not really afraid of horses persay, but she does feel deeply betrayed by them. they were her favorite animal. now she’s a fan of the peacock mantis shrimp, but they don’t make toys of it.

♜ Interior decorating aesthetic

once upon a time her room was decorated like a ranch, very much like jesse’s emily in toy story 2 (that shit still makes me cry. and mayu.) but since her thirteenth birthday she’s been slowly making it a more “adult” space, with the goal of making it the perfect place to study. her interior decorating aesthetic is probably minimalistic, with splashes of colors here and there. very chic, but when you’re seventeen with a small allowance and no job, it just means you hide your stuff in your closet.

✓ What a typical Tuesday night looks like

tuesdays are volleyball nights! mayu plays volleyball for the school JV team as libero. actually, she has volleyball three nights a week, a game on fridays, debate club, spanish club, and indigenous peoples club other nights. any down time (even while at practice or in meetings) is spent studying.
