The thing nobody says in the demo class
Here's what bothers me about how digital marketing courses are sold in India.
The demo class is polished. The brochure is convincing. The placement percentage sounds impressive. And then you pay the fee, complete the course, and walk into your first interview — where a hiring manager asks you to walk them through a campaign you ran.
And you realise that everything you learned was real enough to understand, but none of it was done in a way that produced documented, data-backed results you can actually talk about.
"Live projects" sometimes means demo accounts. "Placement support" sometimes means job links in a WhatsApp group. "Industry-relevant curriculum" sometimes means a syllabus that hasn't acknowledged that AI tools are now a baseline expectation.
The students who get hired fast after completing a digital marketing course share one thing: they graduated with a portfolio. GA4 screenshots. Ad account performance tables. A before-and-after story about a campaign they personally managed. Something a hiring manager can look at and say — this person has actually done the work.
The certificate tells the interviewer you showed up. The portfolio tells them you can deliver.
There's a broader point here about how students choose institutes, too. Most people pick based on fee, location, or what came up first on Google. Almost nobody asks "can I see portfolio examples from your last batch?" or "what is your batch-specific placement rate for the past three batches?" Those are the questions that actually predict whether the training will produce a job.

Anyway. If you're evaluating courses right now — go in with questions. The right place won't be uncomfortable answering them.
