Careless World: Rise of the Last King-Tyga

So this wasn’t what I expected from a Tyga album.

Y’all remember Tyga? Rack City? Young Money? Sketch relationship? Chris Brown groupie?

Yeah, didn’t expect ya to. Well, this was his first Young Money album/first big album with his main hit, Rack City. I came in expecting basic raps with basic beats, but I got surprised! Out of 21 tracks, there’s only two DJ Mustard/clubbing songs. A lot of them are more of pop rap songs with focus on staying true to his family and overcoming the struggle, and they’re pretty average. I can’t be really mad at them. He even comes in with a Lil Wayne punchline-style song on Muthafucka Up with some dope bars!

Problem is (besides having a mediocre flow and a slightly annoying voice), he’s really got enough material for maybe half of the album to be pretty good. He ends up sounding kina repetitive since Tyga isn’t versatile or entertaining enough to sustain this long an album... maybe even an EP. The guy’s got some good intentions, they’re just executed in a pretty tedious manner.
