✽ 30 DAYS MUSIC CHALLENGE: 2024 edition ✽
Day 29 - A song that reminds you of yourself: I Am Only One (We Are The Fallen)
(insp. ✽)
Personal drama between members of the band and other bands aside.... (for real don’t start it)
the thing that drives me craziest about We Are The Fallen is that I think their best song is Samhain and it’s the one that’s not on the album. I’ve heard it might because the melody is similar to Through Hell but if it was a choice between this and TH I’d pick Samhain every time. Ideally tho I’d replace I Will Stay because it’s the one song on the album I do not like at all and think sounds like a Kelly Clarkson song (sorry if it’s your fave). I just think the album has other ballads that are better.
But I’m always a little sad that Universal Republic records basically gave up on them after one album. They did moderately well, especially in 2010 when rock music was on a decline. I really enjoyed Carly Smithson and really wanted to be able to enjoy a badass Irish rock chick.
19529 I miss Carly Smithson’s voice.

Day 18/30: A song by a band you wish were still together. [insp.]
✠ 'Bury Me Alive' by We are the Fallen ✠
You bury me alive, And everybody's gotta breathe somehow, Don't leave me to die, Too consumed by your own emptiness and lies.
Mortal Remains (Blackbriar Band) & Bury Me Alive (We are the Fallen)
Finally I found you, I need to feel whole Oh, my love, I am here to take back what you stole Somewhere in your coffin, I am searching for my soul
