Beneath the first, small blanket Heidi had pulled from her own old collection of things, the young woman’s body shivered as a reaction to the fever she had. She really hated being sick, but she guessed she couldn’t be too upset at the idea of staying home from work for the day. Finally, she’d get to have a day alone with Eric, even if he was just working while she slept on the couch. She didn’t mind it. Heidi just wanted to be near him.
Forcing her green eyes back open as she felt the couch shift in weight, she was a little surprised to see Eric setting himself up beside her. Sitting up slowly, she could definitely still feel a slight dizziness to her composure. It made the want for affection a bit strained, but it was still there all the same.
Scooting close to her husband’s side, she got herself and her first blanket scrunched up beneath the cat printed blanket. Part of her felt bad for Eric. He’d probably end up feeling pretty hot, with the heat radiating off of her from both her fever and then the two blankets. Her head was far too foggy to car at that moment, though.
With a quiet, content sigh, Heidi rested against him.
“Thank you, Eric,”
