Don’t be sorry! but I have talked about this a few times before and I also talked about this even more thoroughly in my podcast a while back. In short, I had a similar idea for another story (a drabble/short story) that was requested when I held a drabble game on my first year writing on Tumblr. Let’s just say that the idea just grew into the story that exists today not too long after because I just couldn’t help myself lol
Another thing that I’ve never mentioned is that I kept seeing stories of characters getting stuck in a similar situation (arranged marriage) but their stories always end up with both characters hating each other or the male character deliberately hurting the female because he hated the situation, or they talk about unrequited love between them yet one of them are severely evil (cheating, being emotionally abusive to the other), etc. I’m not downplaying them, since I only ended up reading a few (and skipped the ones I wasn’t interested in reading) and most of them were actually good, but I wanted to make something different. I wanted to create a story that readers can relate to or where they can find characters to grow fond of (which, in this case, seems to be our female/reader character^^) and a dynamic between its characters that can have people swoon and root for them throughout the story. I took it as a challenge when I thought of it and in the end, Carousel was created through it.
No, I never thought about giving it a season 2 or something similar. I do have a few ideas for the other characters (Jimin, Hoseok, Jungkook, even Yongguk if anyone is interested in reading about him) so I’ll be adding more short stories for them as well when I can.
