I did some second hand book shopping yesterday and I am pretty pleased with my finds
some annoying epilepsy things
Losing my memory of the five minutes before my seizure
Consequently, having no idea whether or not I get an aura or any kind of warning, because if I did then I forgot it
Having weird brain sensations for days/weeks after a seizure and instinctively wondering “is this an aura? Is this my warning sensation?” the first forty or fifty times before finally coming to the conclusion that no, actually, it it not a warning sign of a seizure, because I never have a seizure after having this sensation
Still having no warning at all
Long gaps between seizures, so they always seem to come right when I’m feeling pretty confident that I don’t have to worry any more
Facial injuries
Mostly-healed facial injuries, past the point of people asking “what happened?” so now they just think that’s what my face looks like, with a fucked up eyebrow and bad skin (because that’s what the abrasion scars look like)
Refilling your medication cases for the coming week and realising how many doses you forgot to take this past week
Trying to remember what medication you’re on when you’re still in a state of postictal confusion
People thinking “brainstorm” is somehow offensive to you
People who don’t understand that no, actually, not everyone has the same triggers, so yeah, actually, I’m perfectly fine with flashing lights
People assuming that I actually know what my seizure triggers are in the first place... to be fair, most (? or a lot of?) people do, but I have no fucking clue.
Having no fucking clue.
That, Claire thought, was a pretty good definition of love: needing someone even after you got what you thought you wanted.
Claire Danvers (Carpe Corpus)
I’ll defend the girl with my last breath. Oh, wait. That doesn’t mean much, does it, since I gasped that last breath before the Magna Carta was dry on the page? I mean, of course I’ll look after her, with whatever is left of my life.
Myrnin (Carpe Corpus.
Parting is such sweet sorrow, according to the bards. I wouldn’t know, myself. I never parted anyone. Well. Just the one time, really. Doesn’t count.

God, I needed you. I can't even tell you how many times I thought about this. The funny thing is, I don't need you any less now. I think I need you more.
