Carport Central, one of the leading metal buildings dealers, is partnering with The Mariners’ Museum to Help Preserve Nautical History. We have provided a top-notch durable metal building cover to protect Nishimura 3746. No. 3746 is a Japanese mini-submarine built by Nishimura Ishimatsu in 1940. This wasn’t a WWII attack submarine but was designed for exploration, salvage, and radar testing. Since 1973, this unique Nishimura 3746 has been in storage, but now The Mariners’ Museum wants to rehouse all the essential outdoor artifacts, including this Japanese mini-submarine. Their long-term plan is to place this artifact on indoor display, but in the meantime, they require a strong and durable metal cover to be installed to keep this mini-sub from harmful weather elements. Carport Central installed a 50’x61’ metal structure which The Mariners’ Museum can utilize to keep this mini-submarine and other important artifacts.
