Was anyone going to remind me how Gotta Get Thru This by Daniel Bedingfield fucks severely? Or did I have to hear it over the grocery store radio and get nostalgic whiplash all by myself?

My god, the man perfected the desperation and feral YEARNING. 10 year old me was obsessed with this song.

And because of the yearning and my love of old man yaoi, this song is giving me intense Thunderscience feels. If it knocks my writer’s block away, I might cry. I really want to get back into writing my AOU AU. Sadly I lost all my progress years back when I lost access to my Word account, which definitely soured me. Plus I’ve been battling all forms of health and brain demons and life shit, so I haven’t had the time or energy to start again. But I’m sorely tempted.

But this song’s yearning can transcend fandoms. I feel like it would also work really well for Destiel and Blackbonnet.

2. Has writing a fic ever changed your opinion of a character?

This is an interesting question and has made me look back over my works. Generally of course, I write for the characters I like and the ships that interest me. One habit that has occasionally made me examine relationships and personailities a bit more is when I’m trying to explain a pairing within canon. With this in mind, I did end up developing a fondness for the Thor/Hulk pairing that I’d previously only been interested in as Thor/Bruce by trying to explain the continuity between two Marvel series in Learn To Love Again. Originally I confess I thought of Hulk as, well, baggage that Bruce came with. However I have since decided Thor can love both Hulk and Bruce and they are each worthy heroes in their own right. 

3. Tell us about a headcanon you invented for a fic.

OK obviously over the years I’ve picked up a lot of headcanons (Gotham Olga is Batman 66 Olga, Jervis is trans and was in fact Alice all along) but the ONE that is really worth discussing is the idea that Gotham Oswald is dyslexic. I wrote a whole fic with this premise, Words Don’t Come Easy, and discussed it in another tumblr post here. There is EVIDENCE! It just makes so much sense, especially when we see how he writes to Ed that one time. idk its just important to me that I have this interpretation which distinguishes how I view the character.
