Carrie was far from popular at high school, she was the high school girls favorite punching bag. And the laughing stalk of the whole school it seemed. It had never stopped from the moment she came to the town when she was eight years old. The kids had latched onto her small height and quiet demeanor and attacked it. Carrie was still by far the smallest in the school. Even the freshmen. And she still didn’t speak up, her only relief came from the fact that next year she’d graduate, and would be rid of this town. Maybe she’d move to New York with her sister Cathy, who was dancing on the big stage. That was another thing the students at the school liked to tease her about. She was smaller and seemingly nothing like her siblings. Her older siblings who had floated through high school with ease, both popular. Her brother was valedictorian and now a doctor, who all the high school girls swooned for when he came to pick her up from school. And Cathy got the same reaction from the high school boys, a big time dancer and beautiful woman. Carrie’s looks weren’t far from Cathy’s, all but for her height and proportions. But the only time anyone here seemed to be nice to her, was when Chris or Cathy were around. Th girls flirted with her brother, while the boys drooled at the sight of her sister. Luckily Chris and Cathy didn’t come to pick her up from school too often, which saved her from the faked niceties that came with their presence. Honesty, even horribleness was better than lies.
Carrie kept her head down as she moved to her locker, across from the schools baseball star, Aiden Nichols. Carrie unlocked the locker and stood on the tips of her toes trying to reach one of her textbooks off the top shelf of her locker.
