Maanon had practically ran to the fountain after receiving the SMS from Carrie. She hadn’t physically seen the girl the whole week she had been in Wilmington. Carrie had her stuff sent to Maanon’s apartment, but the young woman herself practically lived in some gelato shop that she was too busy renovating to show anyone. Any moment now, Maanon would see the familiar face. The stunning face that she actually felt something for. Did she care or was the girl merely amusing? Friendship was an idea Maanon didn’t come to terms with easily, but Carrie was the closest thing she knew to it. So she waited, feet shuffling, eyes scanning the crowd. It was only a matter of time now.
