jake doesnt understand death, i don’t think he’s ever even experienced it. Never had it explained to him...WAIT no. He was told his “aunt” (john, they misgendered him) ended up dying after he ran from Crocker Corp. They make it out to be this horrific tale that scares Jake into never considering running a possibility. But other than that? Never thinks about it.

i think he’s irrationally afraid of falling out of popularity like his mother. He saw what it did to her. Sees what its DOING to her. She looks so sad all the time, she looks like shes not even there. He’s scared of ending up like that, too. He’s scared of losing who he is. He thinks all he is is crocker corp and the popularity he brings with his advertising.

His mother and him sitting near a fireplace, while she brushed his hair. He had just finished throwing a tantrum, over something small and unimportant, maybe told no he cant go out and play today because he has work to do. She just gently plays with his hair and coos at him to calm him down, gently rubbing one hand on his back. He misses being close to her like that, sometimes he felt like she was the only one who got him, she was so gentle unlike everyone else.
