hands dragged down steph’s face, adding effect to the distressed look she was already sporting. she knew they shouldn’t have started betting for real. she barely even had the resources for it--and cass always exceeded expectations, that was just what she did.

even at card games, apparently.

“okay, that’s it--i’m out. i’m too broke to keep this up. i can’t do it. you won.”

                                                        ☪ Pick me up, and kiss me

Ƹ̵̡Ӝ̵̨̄Ʒ — Soft lips met her own, and her heart skipped a beat. For a moment, her eyes were wide, disbelieving, shocked - and then Stephanie melted. Her eyes fluttered close, her arm coming to wrap around the woman holding her, kissing her, making her heart beat faster.

       This was unexpected, disoriented, but far from unwelcome. It felt good, and nice, and right. She was kissing Cass. She was being kissed by Cass. The blonde hummed into the kiss, enjoying it and the warmth it spread throughout her.

      And suddenly it was over, both women parting for breathe, each slightly panting and grinning. The pure, wide, happy grin that Stephanie knew was stretched across her face as she brought a hand up to caress Cass’ cheek, before swooping back in for another kiss.

                                                          A Starry Night

Send ♆ for our muses to go to the beach late at night to stargaze.

Ƹ̵̡Ӝ̵̨̄Ʒ — The long drive had been worth it, Stephanie decided. Findingan actual beach away from Gotham, without the massive city lights interfering,had been a bit of a hassle. But, Stephanie reaffirmed as she heard the sound ofcrashing waves against sand – her eyes fixed onto the canopy of stars, this wasso worth it.

         “See, connect that star, with that one there, and…”Stephanie held Cassandra’s hand in her own, the two girls lying on the backs onthe large blanket Cass had the foresight to bring as the blonde traced thepattern up above with her free hand. “And you get Lepus. The bunny.” She said,grinning. “Honestly, one of the few constellations that actually look like whatit’s named after.”

          There was a peace, a softness to this moment that preventedSteph’s voice from going beyond the hushed tones she spoke with. It was almostas if she was afraid to break this spell. Silence passed between the two,comfortable and serene and only occasionally broken by soft words as the twogirls traced patterns in the sky, both old and new, and the helpless giggles aslack of sleep made them both giddier than before.
