Once the ambulances showed up at the Krongold charity event, it was all a blur to Bari once she let the paramedics help her. On her way to the hospital she could see Carson riding in the ambulance with her holding her hand and while she wanted to give it a squeeze, she started to fade, her eyes fluttering and then everything went black. What felt like seconds later, her eyes fluttered open to see the doctors taking her to an Operating Room and Carson was by her side, holding her hand again until he wasn’t moments later. “I...I love you,” she whispered and before she knew it, she was getting hooked up in the Operating Room and she was breathing in the anesthesia.
What felt like was seconds was definitely hours as Bari started to slowly wake up from the anesthesia. Her toes started to move, then her fingers, her arms and when she tried to move her legs, she whimpered in pain. Her eyes fluttered open to the dim lights of the hospital room that she was in. “Carson?” When her eyes adjusted more, they instantly went to her thigh that was wrapped up, her memories of getting shot, how scared and terrified she felt, the pain...her heart rate started to speed up until her eyes rested on her husband. “Carson,” she whispered, trying to sit up so she could reach for him which caused her to groan a bit in pain. She was so sore and it was hard for her to move at the moment. All she wanted to do was hug her husband.
