Since the game's routes are more extended endings than routes this went by pretty quickly!
The solution of the entire mystery did feel a bit convoluted, but overall I was satisfied enough with how everything tied together.
(spoilers below!)
Arishima being so deeply involved made me roll my eyes a bit. Definitely the least interesting part of it all for me.
It was pretty funny how when Akao appeared I was thinking: "A handsome and nice man who isn't the protagonist in this type of murder mystery? He's the killer lol
And I was right on the money!
Similar to Kara no Shoujo 1 this game isn't interested in giving you a whodunit experience, by giving you all the clues needed to piece everything together yourself. Making guesses based on vibes and tropes was still fun though.
I am a bit relieved that Cartagra wasn't quite as tragic as Kara no Shoujo 1 to me even if two love interests still died. I was honestly only sad about Rin though. Takako came in late and her route felt like an excuse for a bunch of fade to black h-scenes. Or it might just be that she isn't my type at all.
Overall Cartagra didn't have much romance focus.
I was definitely left wanting more of these girls. Especially Toji and Rin!
Toji especially was such an MVP! Shugo will never be able to pay her back for everything she did for him. I'm kinda sad Toji's route had her being the rebound after Shugo broke it off with Kazuna. I think she deserves better.
I was very grateful for Sacrament: White Clover since it gave some love to Yura who really needed it. I was also glad to see that it was possible for her to turn over a new leaf even if it isn't the canon ending.
I'm still curious about their romance before she went missing. I would've loved to see more of their dynamic back then besides her choking Shugo.
I sadly wasn't too interested in Kazuna. There's nothing wrong with her, she just isn't my type and doesn't have as much going on as Yura.
Overall this game felt more shallow than Kara no Shoujo 1, but I still had a good time and I don't regret buying the Switch version.
