Lacrosse Laments & Baseball Blues ll Cartin
Austin was exhausted. After his classes, he walked to the gym to change into his practice stuff for baseball. He went to the diamond, all ready to practice, but he had to try out first. He waved to Isaac, but was immediately called over by the baseball coach, who pretty much thought he was a new student. While he was new to playing here, he explained to the coach how he'd been a student for almost two years now. The coach nodded and sent him into the outfield. With a scowl towards the pitcher's mound, Austin took his place at center, and it seemed like every ball that was hit was hit towards him. He scurried to catch the ball, missing a little over half, and getting frustrated by the second.
After that grueling hour of embarrassment, Austin ran towards the lockerroom to switch practice gear and walked onto the field with a loaner stick. The lacrosse coach waved him over, and at least this time the coach knew who he was, having watched Austin's playing from his school back in Texas. However, he was still new to the team, so he had to try out like everyone else. Practice went better than expected, and Coach was impressed. The only trouble Austin had was face-offs. That honor was going to go to some guy who just moved here from Seattle. Austin headed back to the dorms, leaving his lax gear on, with the addition of his new practice penny, and walked into his and Carter's room, collapsing on the floor from sheer exhaustion. "Carter? Are you here? Help."
