EDIT: There is an alternate version of the song, which substitutes "diro" ("man") for "khenna" (and vice versa) and "luro" ("mischievous") for "orna" ("treacherous"), e.g. bo diw thi madyt e diro / e diro ca bo vylh / yl bo dhan e khenna luro / en ys ca twm rymylh.
The gender of the thief does not matter overmuch, provided the rhyme is maintained — it could be a diro luro stealing the heart of e diro ca bo vylh. I am not yet sure how Carun culture feels about non-heterosexual orientations.
