For the last few days I neglected Valancy for the sake of our other favourite Maud's girl, Anne Shirley </3 We had premiere of a new musical adapting Anne of Green Gables on stage in Poland so I just needed to hop on hype train and see it with my own eyes.

Looong opinion/review you can find on my Polish blog [here!] but if don't know the language I also tried to shove there as many clips from press screening as I could find. Whole soundtrack will premiere on 1st of June.

He’d played the long game, and it had paid off beautifully. AOGG series: one thing you dislike about your favourite character and one thing you like about your least favourite character

I dislike that Anne's creativity just sort of... dies somewhere in there. I wish she still had it, just a little, in the later books. I'm not asking for her to become a full-on authoress, not with that many kids to care for, but a couple of lines, please, about how she continued to write in a small way? Like Emily with The Moral of the Rose?

I like that Mr Phillips makes Anne and Gilbert sit next to each other. Good punishment? Absolutely not. Juicy character moment? ABSOLUTELY YES.

Ok so like - puffy sleeves are cute and all but also give you mobility. I doubt Marilla was sewing in underarm gussets. Maybe Anne couldn’t raise her arms.
