Creamy-White Jade 'Boy and Dragon' Handled Cup. Jade (Song / Yuan Dynasty) This vessel features a dragon handle balanced by a figure of a young boy climbing toward the rim. Carved from smooth nephrite, the motifs are auspicious symbols of prosperity and good fortune.

Scholars and collectors valued these cups for their tactile qualities and the virtues associated with the stone, such as purity and moral strength. Its exact layout mirrors historical specimens preserved in prominent institutions. A recognized companion piece is currently held in the V&A Museum's permanent collection in London. Loc.
