"We're her friends, we're allowed to be worried about her."
"Yeah, but she's my sister!"
"And she's our friend!"
"My sister!!!"
Carver scowled at Anders, ignoring the quiet voice of his conscious suggesting that maybe provoking the abomination wasn't the best idea.
They'd deliberately left him out. It was bad enough when Hawke made him sit out of important events, but now everyone else was doing it too? No more.
It was Aveline who stepped forward to break up the brewing squabble. "We weren't sure you'd be interested in coming." Aveline stated this bluntly, sugar coating just wasn't in her nature.
"Not interested?" Carver wheeled on Aveline, furious. "I don't think any of you lot get it. She's. MY. SISTER."
Sure, maybe they didn't always get along very well, but that didn't change the fact that they were family. Family took care of each other and as his seemed keen on shrinking he was going to do everything in his power to make sure that Hawke and his mother stayed safe.
"What do you lot know anyway? You hardly know her. I'm the one who's been there most of her life." He was wound up now, ready for a good proper rant when the door swung open behind him and a familiar voice filled the room followed by an all too familiar face.
"Fenris? Fenris! Have you seen where.... Maker's breath! No wonder I couldn't find anyone."
And with that, Alexis Hawke walked into Fenris' suddenly crowded home.
