Hawke: My boyfriend has been dealing with years of trauma, has been on the run from his oppressors for most of his life, and glows blue when he's angry.
Varric: Who is this? The mage or the elf?
Hawke: Yes.
NikeMV on DeviantArt finished my Marian Hawke/Fenris piece and I’m simply in love 💕
Both of the Women: *saying roses are red poems*
Inquisitor: roses are red
poems are charming.
I'm sorry you find my wit so disarming.

“Meeting you was the most important thing that ever happened to me, Hawke. Promise me you won’t die. I can’t bear the thought of living without you.”
“I don’t plan on dying.”
“You’d better not.”
"We're her friends, we're allowed to be worried about her."
"Yeah, but she's my sister!"
"And she's our friend!"
"My sister!!!"
Carver scowled at Anders, ignoring the quiet voice of his conscious suggesting that maybe provoking the abomination wasn't the best idea.
Carver's first impulse was to just go talk to Hawke about this directly. After all Alexis was his sister! It didn't take long for him to realize that wasn't going to fix whatever this was. If he brought up his concerns on his own she'd just find a way to brush it off. If there was one thing his sister was good at it was bluster. And launching incredibly large fireballs, but mostly it was bluster.
So this time, he was the one who tracked down Fenris. Which meant going into Hightown and into that stupid mansion Fenris insisted on living in. Hightown might be nice enough, but the inside of that mansion was a dump. Fenris might as well be living in lowtown with the way that place looked.
Hopefully Fenris was actually there and not off gallivanting with his sister for once. Why Hawke seemed determined to have Fenris with her all the time eluded Carver. Who'd want a grump like Fenris around if they could choose to take someone else along? It's not like they really needed another warrior. His sword-arm was more than enough to fulfill their party's needs. Honest!
"Fenris! We need to talk!" The words were out of his mouth before he'd even entered the room. If he’d known what was waiting for him on the other side of that door he probably wouldn’t have said anything. Heck, he might have turned around and walked out right then and there. Hawke’s issues be damned.
"Oh...Isabela? Avline? Varic? Anders???" Finding Isabela or Aveline here wasn't a big surprise, but he was pretty sure Anders and Fenris hated each other. "What in the blazes are you lot doing here?"
For once Varric looked completely serious. "Well Junior, we're here to talk about Hawke."
Carver looked around the room, eyebrows arching incredulously. He'd long been aware that they were more Hawke's friends than they were his own, but this was still a little much.
"Wait...You were going to talk about my sister without me????"
"Maker what is it this time Fenris."
Carver didn't even look up to see what the other man wanted, simply frowned at his ale before shoving one hand through his already terribly messy sandy blond hair. Last time Fenris wanted to have a talk like this it was because he'd noticed that Hawke wasn't sleeping. This time? Maker knows what it was about.
Glancing over at Alexis, Carver smiled slightly when he saw that she was merrily sharing a drink with Varric and Isabela. She was in high spirits tonight, that was good. It was good, wasn't it? Please let it be good. Fenris stood in silence by his side, eyes also glued to Hawke's smiling face.
"Alright, whatever it is you came over here to say? Just spit it out already." He sighed as Fenris took his sweet time in answering. Was this important or not? Finally, after a few moments of hesitation, Fenris answered.
"When's the last time Hawke ate a proper meal?"
Carver's mug didn't even slam down this time. He dropped it onto the floor and over half a mug of perfectly good ale spilled out onto the already disgusting tavern floorn. Not that Carver noticed...or cared.
Damn it all, he should have known it'd be something big if even Fenris hesitated to bring it up. Fenris never hesitated.
