the wildest part of the reactions to Supernatural’s finale is people saying they knew it couldn't be good once Dabb took over.

I feel like I'm very alone in that I hate seasons 9 and 10 because of the previously stated reasons but season 11 is like...my second favorite season even though it also doesn't focus much on Destiel (though it does restore Dean as the emotional touchpoint character).

But I think that's the point. After season 10, Dean almost needed a total reboot. He had gone to SUCH a dark place and his relationships were all in such bad shape that it was almost a RELIEF to focus on something else for a while.

Season 11 really felt like it wasn't about the brothers. It was but it wasn't. They were seeing their own issues reflected in other characters, and it was done so well and deconstructed so many of the show's worst elements that I was riveted. It wasn't fun per se but it wasn't the soul-sucking drag that seasons 9 and 10 were.

It also saw the (sadly brief) return of MOTW episodes being connected in some way to a bigger picture, either the mytharc or the characters' development.

Yeah...I think I just need to rewatch all of Carver era in sequence.

You know what else fucking kills me about the bullshit writing of Sam not looking for Dean?

It’s absolutely fucking disgusting that despite everything that happened in Season 4-5, Sam is once again partially bitter about Dean coming back to life. Absolutely fucking disgusting.

On what planet did these writers think that they weren’t utterly decimating Sam’s character with this decision? On what planet did this not make Sam look like a pissant ungrateful immature shithead of a brother? Of a human being?

You really want this to be character trait of Sam’s rather than a horrible one-time demon blood-fuelled mistake that he learned and grew from? Really?

And no, Sam crying near the end of the season does not fix it. He launched the fucking apocalypse because of it last time. There is no goddamned justification on the planet that could make me believe Sam would not have learned from that shit.

Stop relying on previous arcs and write something of your goddamned own for once.

If you read ANY of the popular paranormal comic series from the past ten years you will never again question whether Carver and his group of hacks are just a stagnant pile of plagiarizing jizz bags.

Constantine, Preacher, Lucifer, etc. etc...

Every bit of the last four years of SPN scooped out of comics, graphic novels, old movies and sitcoms.

I'm glad for the low key acknowledgement that the writers and editors of the show are basically garbage from Jared at Jibcon, but it would be even better if j2 would get freaking producer credits so they could stop bullshit like this from happening. Come on, it's way past time.
