An hour after the shop officially closed, Lucas sat at the front counter, hunched over the body of his half-built laptop. Mister Stone must have been able to tell Lucas had been having a horrific time as of late because as soon as he found a GeForce 1060 graphics card, he sold it to Lucas well below cost. “Consider it compensation for the overtime,” Mister Stone had said, and Lucas had hugged the old man tight and said “thank you” approximately fifty-six times.
Just as he was able to get the graphics card in the right spot and properly hooked up, he heard a knock at the front. Beyond the lamplight, he couldn’t quite make out who it was at first and hoped it wasn’t a client demanding to be let in. He was well in view of the front windows, after all; they'd easily be able to see him. You're already here, so why can't you just fix it?
When he came around the counter and got closer, though, he found it was just Cas, and he smiled in relief. He quickly unlocked and opened the door, standing aside to let Cas in. “Hey. Any trouble finding the place?”
