Sorry for not posting during Easter week...I had too much fun during these holidays. On Saturday I went to Salamanca and visited the Casa Lis Museum, which contains art deco and nouveau. Between all its rooms, there was one which had dolls. Biscuit made dolls from France and Germany, some creepy, others adorable. Lots of them wore white dresses, and that inspired me on Doctor Who. Victoria comes from the 18th century, and she is very often seen on voluminous, complex dresses. However, for the drawing I had Sarah on mind - in Pyramids of Mars, she wore a very pretty white dress; but it was Edwardian, much like most of the Doctor's wardrobe. Then I thought of this: Sarah Jane in a dress based off one of the dolls from the museum, sitting on a stool while hugging a old fashioned Steffi Bear, another interesting find at the museum doll section. And for extra oldness, I made a few tweaks to make it look like a photo taken in 1919 and found on an hardbook cased album 73 years later. This Easter has been really fun.
