thank yew ^_^ theoretically i dont hate tone tags and i use them on very rare occasions but my url and online identity as tonetaghater ultimately stems from the complete overuse of tone tags to the point of being confusing. people are apparently blind to context when reading a joke online? or the way of writing out speech. tooooootally. you cant tell im being sarcastic attt alllll. theres so many tone tags for things that frankly dont need them. rlly i think the only ones that are useful are /srs and /s. alongside usijg more than like 2 tags on a message ESP ON STUFF THAT DOESNT NEED THEM?? i was in a server a while back that would send messages like 'HIIII im doing great hru!!! /gen /srs /pos /p' what ever happened to hello. how are you. like i send messages like HAIIII HIII ^-^ HELLO but thats obviously like. positive. unless used in the context of something out of pocket being said so HELLO???? means something different than HELLO!!!!! sorry this was a huge rant but like tone tags are not needed as much as they r used like context matters. if you can read a book and understand when people arent being serious then you should be able to understand when im not being serious. also it negates the much funnier alternative (adding thoughts and tone in parentheses following the message)
